Cardmaking and Scrapbooking with Jean Manis
Today, I’m sharing a card created with Poppystamps dies to be sent to a friend who is moving, hence the punny sentiment.
I used the pine landscape die to create the cow’s pasture as it would look here in the Pacific Northwest. The original Carnation Farms is located nearby in Carnation, Washington. I created the sentiment on my computer and used the Classic Ribbons die to cut it into a banner.

Lawnscaping Challenge Number 84 is all about incorporating Stars & Stripes on your project. The prize for this challenge is a free stamp set of the winner’s choice from Lawn Fawn.
With July 4th around the corner, I created a red, white and blue card featuring both stars and stripes.
I stamped the fireworks from the Happy 4th set in white pigment ink on the card base front. I die cut the stars from the Stitched Journaling Card set repeatedly to create the rows of stars. I then backed the journaling card with stripes in blue and red. The sentiment from Lucky Stars was heat embossed on a red stripe.

Kristie Goulet of the Stamp Nation team regularly posts about paper crafting trends sharing tips, tutorials and projects! Kristie wrote about the nautical trend last year, when it was really at its high point. As a member, I can access those past articles. Even if the trend has cooled somewhat, I still enjoy making nautical-themed cards, especially in the summer.
To create the coral striped background, I inked the Impression Obsession Thick Stripes background stamp with Distress Ink and misted it until the ink pooled. The anchor is cut from a brushed gold cardstock.
As long as I was making one card, I decided to make another with a little variation! I heat embossed the Impression Obsession background stamp with gold embossing powder. The anchor is cut from a gold foil cardstock.
I’m also entering the second card in the Card Concept “Use A Nautical Theme” challenge. My style is Clean and Graphic.

I couldn’t resist crafting a tie card for Father’s Day using the Penny Black Amazing [#30-243] stamp set and coordinating Dapper [#51-049] die cut.
I die cut the tie (with collar) first and then stamped it with the coordinating tie stamp using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I machine stitched the gray cardstock panel. The patterned paper card panel is from my stash.
