Tammy Tutterow Tag CASE

As I get my “sea legs” with the Tim Holtz products, I’ve been looking at the projects of Tammy Tutterow. She has a number of fabulous tutorials on her blog. Today, I’m sharing a CASE of a tag from one such tutorial.

Tammy Tutterow Tag CASE

I don’t have all of the same supplies as Tammy, so I improvised. For the sentiment label, I printed a digital label from my computer, stamped one of my favorite Hero Arts sentiments, and distressed it with Vintage Photo ink. (Even though we tend to think of fall as a time of reflection, and spring as a time of renewal, I decided that it wouldn’t hurt to think of the autumn season as a time of renewal as well!) I adhered the light-weight vintage paper to Craft-a-Board before die cutting the leaves. I combined a number of different Distress Inks to color the leaves – I’d try one ink, step back, add another depending on whether I thought the leaf needed to be more red, more green, and so forth.

Pinspired Challenges #20

This challenge is sponsored by SnakeTape who will be awarding  the winner with a bundle of their adhesive products.

For my card, I was inspired by both the Halloween theme and the colors (specifically those bright yellow-green flowers) in the Pinterest image.

Pinspired Challenges #20

Now, it’s your turn. Head on over to the Pinspired Challenges blog to see the creations from the rest of the “Pin Heads” and find out the details for playing along. Three runner ups will be chosen and win a “Pin Pal” badge for their blog. The winner will win a “Pin Perfect” badge for their blog along with the prize from SnakeTape. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Bewitched

This card was one of those that came together as I was creating other Halloween cards. I made use of the patterns from the We R’ Memory Keepers “Bewitched” paper pad (one of my favorites this year) with the addition of a few stamped and die cut items.

HalloweenTrickorTreat

Have you bought your Halloween candy? Last Halloween, we had trick-or-treaters for the first time in years (lots of new families with small children have moved into our neighborhood over the past year). I’ve got the candy stocked!

As for the title of this post – “Bewitched” – besides being the name of the patterned paper pad I used, it’s also one of my favorite childhood television series. The one thing I could never understand about that show – why didn’t Darrin let Sam use her powers to clean the house!

OCC Insider: Day 3

The emphasis in today’s  Online Card Classes Insider course was “surprise insides.” I veered a bit off course to create a card that combined ideas from a couple of the cards shown.

I found a photo of my sons from last January (need to take some photos of the two of them together closer to the holidays!) to use in a die cut “window.”

OCC Insider: Day 3

I combined a sentiment from Hero Arts “Spread Joy” with patterned papers from Echo Park’s ‘Tis the Season.

I can see adding a panel below the photo with a personalized greeting. This has been a fabulous class; I’m sad to see it end!

OCC Insider: Day 2

Another fabulous day of inspiration in the Online Card Classes Insider course.

The card shared by Laura Bassen was the starting point for my card. I simplified the design considerably by using a background stamp for the inside.

This card was extremely difficult to photograph for a multitude of reasons, not least of which was the acetate panel. On to the details – I die cut a glitter cardstock panel with an MFT snow slope die. Trust me, that front panel glitters. 🙂 The snow slope was adhered to an acetate panel. I added a  gold metallic cardstock Poppystamps die cut deer for some visual interest on the front.

OCC Insider: Day 2

The inside was stamped with Memento Toffee Crunch on kraft cardstock using the Hero Arts Tree Trunks background stamp. I then stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts’ Winter Wishes set with Versamark and embossed it with WOW gold powder.

I can see using this idea of an acetate panel in lots of ways. I’d like to try this same design again with different colors, such as white trees on a blue background.
