Reverse Confetti December SFYTT

I’m playing along with this month’s Sketch for You to Try at Reverse Confetti  using a stamped sentiment and snowflakes from the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts set.

To create the inlaid snowflake circles, I ran the snowflake die (from the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts set) placed inside a circle die through my Big Shot. I repeated for each of the five colors. I then cut the snowflakes again out of silver foil paper. I removed the snowflakes from the colored circles, put some Scotch tape on the back and placed the silver foil snowflakes inside. I added a silver glitter strip to the card base to tie in the silver-and-sparkle theme. I also heat embossed the sentiment, from the Tinsel ‘N Trim set, with silver powder, and cut it with the Tag Me banner

Penny Black CAS Holiday Card with Partial Die Cutting

Today I’m sharing another CAS holiday card created with Penny Black supplies. And again the Branching Out die cut takes center stage.

To begin, I stamped the background with 40-350 Tree-Lined on green cardstock in a green ink. The panel was trimmed and attached to a white cardstock panel.

By placing my acrylic plates and die on the cardstock to create a partial cut, I cut out the tree with the 51-081 Branching Out die. I then cut the sides of the snowbanks from the remaining cardstock. It took a couple of times to get this right!

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment (from the Penny Black 30-257 Joy Filled set).

Hope your week is off to a terrific start!

Super Simple MFT Sweater Holiday Tag

Today, I’m sharing a super simple tag idea using partial die cutting with the MFT Comfy Sweater die.

MFTSweaterTag1

    • To create the tag, I used the larger sweater die, in the My Favorite Things Comfy Sweater set, to cut a 7″ x 3 1/2″ piece of cardstock (scored and folded to create a 3 1/2″ square).
    • I extended just a bit of the sweater over the top of the folded edge and ran the die through my Big Shot.
    • I die cut the cuffs, collar and sweater bottom out of white cardstock and glued those to the tag front.
    • I heat embossed the inside of the tag with a sentiment from the MFT Cozy Greetings set.

It’s easy to match the sweater tags to your gift wrap!

Penny Black CAS Holiday Card

Today I’m sharing a CAS holiday card created with Penny Black Creative Dies.

CASPeace

I cut the tree with 51-081 Branching Out die twice. I placed the tree on a grid of squares using a color combination featured on the Penny Black blog last year. (The combinations from the Color Christmas series are ones I will use again and again as they aren’t ones I would have come up with on my own.) Edited in 2024: I cannot find this series to reference it with a link. I added a sentiment, which was cut with the Peace die, from in the 51-021 Love & Joy set, three times for extra depth.

Hoping your holiday season is filled with Peace!

Reverse Confetti Pretty Packaging Blog Hop

Welcome to the Reverse Confetti Pretty Packaging Blog Hop! The Reverse Confetti designers are sharing a whole range of packaging ideas.

For the hop, I created glitter-stenciled muslin treat bags using the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts. Let’s take a look at the process.

To begin, cut a 4″ x 5″ piece of freezer paper (cut to the size of the muslin bag front) with the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts. I ran the freezer paper through the Big Shot first with all three snowflakes and again with the two smaller snowflakes.

Remove the cut out snowflakes from the panel. Iron the freezer paper panel (shiny side down) onto the muslin bag. The iron should be set on medium heat.

Apply glue to the open snowflake areas. I spread Aleene’s Jewel-It Embellishing Glue with a foam brush.

Shake glitter onto the open areas, covering generously. I used Martha Stewart blue iridescent glitter. Allow the glitter to dry, shake off excess and remove stencil.

To create matching gift tags:  Make a tag base with a circle die. Cover the tag front with a scallop piece cut from silver foil, using a die in the Circles ‘n Scallops Confetti Cuts set. Attach a blue cardstock circle embellished with a glitter snowflake, cut with the Let It Snow Confetti Cuts.

Stamp and heat emboss (using silver embossing powder) the inside of the tag with a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments. Punch the finished tag and string with metallic twine.

Fill treat bags with whatever your heart desires – chocolates, caramels, small toys, nail polish, soaps, …
