Spellbinders Inlaid Die-cut Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card that uses the diecutting inlaid technique and features Spellbinders supplies.

Spellbinders Inlaid Die-cut Card

  • To begin, I cut the Waves overlay from white cardstock.
  • I backed the overlay with dark blue cardstock which created a frame for the other pieces of carstock.
  • I cut light blue cardstock with the Waves die and placed those pieces into the frame.
  • I cut medium blue cardstock with the Waves die an placed those pieces into the frame.
  • I foiled the sentiment in silver and adhered the strip to the assembled wave panel. I adhered the panel to a dark blue card base.

Although inlay technique takes time, it’s a bit like working a jigsaw, which can be rewarding and therapeutic.

My first project combines the Shapeabilities Lucky Clouds die with one of the shapes in the Shapeabilities Lanterns set.

I cut Whip Cream cardstock with the two Lucky Clouds dies (a rectangle and the detailed design). I backed the die-cut piece with Cranberry Bliss cardstock and added the assembly to a Brush Gold card base. I cut the Lantern from Brush Gold cardstock and from Cranberry Bliss, adhering the two together. I gold heat-embossed the Everyday Script sentiment and cut it with its coordinating die.

My next two designs combine the Shapeabilities Chinese Traditional Fence die set with the Shapeabilities Lanterns. On both, I heat-embossed the Everyday Script sentiment on to Cranberry Bliss cardstock and then cut the cardstock with the Chinese Traditional Fence dies.
