Paper Smooches – You Make Me Smile

The Spellbinders Blog Hop post is here.

Hello! I created a CAS card for the current Paper Smooches challenge whose theme is HAPPY.

Paper Smooches - You Make Me Smile

I used the Polaroid die set and a sentiment from the We Totally Click stamp set. I have had these products for a long time. I use the Polaroid frame frequently, however, I’m not sure I’ve ever used the Polaroid camera.

I originally created a card with just the camera and found it didn’t click (pun intended). I found a photo of my youngest son and my husband that I printed on my computer to fit within the frame. I used a patterned paper from the Authentique Hooray pad as the background.

Paper Smooches Rose Bouquet

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card featuring a combination of Paper Smooches supplies, sending a bouquet of cheer in these uncertain times!

Paper Smooches Rose Bouquet

  • I die-cut the floral pieces using the now-retired Paper Smooches Rose die from white cardstock and from cardstock I had colored with watercolor (pink) and Distress Inks (green).
  • I glued the white outline on to the colored pieces.
  • I cut the Mason Jar from white and light-blue cardstock.
  • I stamped the sentiment on to a tag I cut with a punch.
  • I assembled the blooms and leaves on the Mason Jar and added the tag with twine.
  • The Mason Jar and rose assembly was added to a patterned paper card base.

Paper Smooches – Cacti Scene

Hello! Today I’m sharing a die-cut scene created with the Cacti die set from Paper Smooches. This card is a change of pace now that Valentine’s Day is in the rear-view mirror.

Paper Smooches - Cacti Scene

  • I colored white cardstock with a variety of Distress Inks and cut it with dies in the Cacti die set.
  • I added the needles and blooms to the cacti and placed them into pots.
  • I stamped the Fun and Flirty sentiment on to the card base.
  • From a horizon line, I applied Distress Inks for the sky and for the ground, masking with a vellum strip.
  • I added the cacti and other plants to the scene.

Paper Smooches – February LOVE Challenge

Hello! Today I am sharing a card which I’m entering into the Paper Smooches LOVE Challenge.

Paper Smooches - February LOVE Challenge

  • I’m going to start with what I like most about this card – it expresses love without being a traditional, romantic Valentine.
  • With the Paper Smooches Coffee & Tea die set, I die-cut the tea pot, tea bag, cups, and snowflakes. For the teapot, I cut the pot twice, the second time trimming off the bottom part to make the lid.
  • I stamped the Winter Sampler sentiment and blended the sky by masking off the lower area. I applied the ink from the top.
  • I embellished with snowflakes cut with the Snowflakes die set.
  • This card is 4″ square. I wanted the elements to be close together to feel cozy and warm.

Paper Smooches Chilly Chum

Hello! Recently, I’ve been practicing my coloring and using never-used and/or under-used products. I’ve owned the Chilly Chums set from Paper Smooches for many years and have never used it! I created a card with the cute fox image in the set.

Paper Smooches Chilly Chum

  • I Copic-colored the fox and shaded it with colored pencils.
  • I created the card background by cutting a hill out of vellum, placing the hill on to the white cardstock and brushing Tumbled Glass ink as the sky.
  • I heat-embossed the Winter Sampler sentiment in red to match the card base.
  • I added snowflakes to the scene and popped the fox on to the card with foam adhesive.
