Spellbinders – Great, Big, Wonderful World by Sharyn Sowell

Hello! Ready for some happy cardmaking inspiration? Spellbinders has recently introduced the Great, Big, Wonderful World Collection by Sharyn Sowell. This collection is all about friendship and connection. The products  could be used to create cards and project for a variety of occasions including (but not limited to) Valentine’s Day.

I created four cards of similar design with the collection. My cards use the Peaceful Garden and Love & Flowers die sets, as well as sentiments from the Fun Stampers Journey Chosen Family stamp set, cut with the corresponding die set.

  • I die cut the silhouette images from both white and black cardstock. In all cases, I cut two silhouettes and adhered them together to add depth.
  • I combined patterned papers in spring colors for the card backgrounds. (Without thinking about it, I ended up pairing pink with blue and yellow with blue.) I stitched the patterned paper to the card bases. On the Love & Flower card, I added ribbon since more of the transition between the two patterned papers was visible, given the narrower silhouette.
  • I white heat-embossed the Chosen Family stamp set sentiments on black cardstock and stamped the sentiments in black ink on white cardstock. I cut the sentiments with their corresponding dies.
  • I adhered the silhouette images to the card bases and popped up the sentiments with foam adhesive.

My Favorite Things – Hey, Honey Bunny

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a bunny-themed card created with the My Favorite Things Beach Bunnies set. The set is not Easter-themed, but I couldn’t resist using the set now that it’s spring and Easter is around the corner.

My Favorite Things - Hey, Honey Bunny

I stamped the bunny and beach hut images and colored them with Copic markers. I created the background with the Radiating Rays stencil using Squeezed Lemonade ink. I cut the hill from retired Memory Box paper (Latte) using one of the dies in the Snow Drifts die set.

Simon Says Stamp BEST DAYS Release

Hello! Today, I’m delighted to be participating in a Simon Says Stamp blog hop with products from their BEST DAYS release. Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop!

Simon Says Stamp Best Days Release

Let’s get started! My first project features the Picture Book Crocodile paired with the Picture Book Sky Background, both of which are part of the Best Days release.

Simon Says Stamp BEST DAYS ReleaseTo begin, I colored cardstock with a variety of Distress Oxide inks (Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough). I die-cut the Picture Book Crocodile from the colored cardstock and assembled the pieces on black cardstock backing so that the eyes would show through. I also colored cardstock with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. From that colored cardstock, I cut out the Picture Book Sky Background four times, inlaying it with white cardstock clouds.

The sentiment from the Oh Bunny stamp set was stamped on to a panel which I colored with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and cut with one of the dies in the Arched Stitching Borders set. I am a big fan of all of the Picture Book animals and can’t wait to pair the Crocodile with other dies in the series.

My second project showcases the Oh Bunny stamp set and corresponding die set.

I inked one of the images in the Oh Bunny stamp set with Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped the sweet faces included in the Oh Bunny stamp set on to the bunnies. Once finished with the stamping, I cut the image with its corresponding die.

I placed the bunnies on to a background, on which I had applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, and stamped one of the fun sentiments in the Oh Bunny set. To finish off the card, I added clouds cut with the Picture Book Sky Background die and hearts from the Oh Bunny set. I created the card base with paper in the Carta Bella Spring Market 6 x 6 paper pad.

My final project is an Easter tag featuring several different bunnies from the Oh Bunny stamp set.

I stamped the bunny on the left with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink and the one on the right with Squeezed Lemonade. After stamping their faces, I cut the bunnies with their corresponding dies. I used a Lawn Fawn tag die to cut the tag from a background which I had inked with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I applied Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink to cardstock on which I then heat-embossed the Easter sentiment from the Oh Bunny stamp set.  I cut the hill with one of the dies in the Drifted Stitched Borders set, as well as the same Lawn Fawn tag die.

Here is the list of designers sharing their Best Days creations today:

Marianne Design Die-Cut Mice – Spring Version

Hello! Today, I am sharing a spring-themed card featuring the Marianne Design Eline’s Mice Family die set. Back in the fall, I shared a Christmas-themed card featuring the same mice.

Marianne Design Die-Cut Mice

I die-cut the mice and assembled them, adding a dress, cut with a die in the Outfits set from an older Pebbles patterned paper pack (also used for the card base), to the Mama Mouse.

I used a sentiment, whose font I especially like and which seemed suitable for the patterned paper, from the Avery Elle Woodland Wonders set.

I cut the plate and colored it with inks in various colors, masking pieces of the frame as I worked (including the outside edge). I stamped the Floral Frenzy sentiment and cut it out with the Floral Frame Cutting Plate so that it would fit inside the center. I added a few Floral Frenzy blooms and foliage cut with the Mini Bloomers and Bloomers Greenery die sets.

I created two CAS cards with the Quick Critters – Spring Stamp & Die Combo using the same design for both.

The card bases are patterned paper from the Playful Patterns – Sweet pack. I used the Cloud Nine Background to create the sky behind the animals, cutting it and the Build a Scene – Grassy Hills with one of the Egg Stacklets dies to reinforce the Easter theme.

I dry-embossed the Potato Chip cardstock rectangle with the Flower Power embossing folder.
