TE Share Joy Challenge #33

Today I’m sharing a card I created for Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #33.SJC33Apr28

I used the sketch to create an encouragement or congratulations card showcasing the Sky High – Airplane set. This is a perfect boy card!

TE Share Joy Challenge #33

I cut a variety of cardstock colors with the Sky High – Airplane set and assembled the pieces with liquid adhesive. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Sky High Sentiments set and cut it with a die in the Stitched Banner Stacklets set. I used the Cloudy Days embossing folder for the panel behind the airplane and the Houndstooth embossing folder for the lower portion of the card. I rarely use two embossing folders on one card, but the patterned paper I tried on the lower half just didn’t work. The patterned paper strip (Carta Bella) was also cut with one of the dies in the Stitched Banner Stacklets set. (I cut once and then turned it around to cut a rectangle rather than a banner.)

Today I’m sharing two CAS cards I created for Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #32.

SJC32Apr21

The cards (variations on the same idea) showcase the Stitch by Stitch 2 stamp set.

TE Share Joy Challenge #32

Using the MISTI I stamped the image and sentiment onto Sugar Cube cardstock (two separate stamps that I lined up). I inked the sentiment with an ink pad (holding a post-it note over the image) and then colored the image with Distress Ink and Memento markers. The MISTI made it possible to get good coverage. I cut the image with one of the dies in the Stitched Square Stacklets set, framed it with a slightly larger square, cut from Chocolate Truffle cardstock, and attached it to a woodgrain patterned paper.

With the stamps still on the MISTI I stamped the image and sentiment (using the same method as above) onto Buttercream Frosting cardstock. I cut the image with one of the dies in the Stitched Square Stacklets set and attached it to a card panel cut from a different woodgrain patterned paper in my stash. The darker woodgrain paper looked better with the Buttercream Frosting cardstock and didn’t need the image to be framed in a darker cardstock.

I used the sketch to create a “hello” card:

The focal point of my card is the Stacked Teacups die cut, which I attached with foam adhesive to the Mark Your Spot Bookmark (cut down to make a tag). I used the inner oval of the rug in the Build a Scene – Nursery set to create a saucer. I used one of the dies from Build a Bookmark to create a horizontal band (I cut it twice; the seam is behind the tag). The band is attached to a panel dry-embossed with the Dotted Lattice folder. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Simply Succulents Stamp & Die Combo set and cut it with a Stitched Banner Stacklets die.

Mother’s Day Felt Blooms

Today, I’m sharing a Mother’s Day card crafted with die-cuts cut from the wool felt at Taylored Expressions.

Taylored Expressions Felt Project

This felt cuts like butter in my Big Shot! The colors are so rich and vibrant. I cut a variety of floral elements (stems, blossoms and centers) from Lip GlossButterPersimmonSplit Pea, and Carrot and the terra cotta planter from Latte.

Taylored Expressions Felt Project

I debossed the background with the Weathered embossing folder after stamping it with a sentiment in the Simply Succulents Stamp & Die Combo set.

I used a liquid glue that was designed for foam and felt to glue the pieces together. Because the felt sticks to itself, a lot of glue is not required.

I’ve got a long list of felt colors on my “to buy” list!

I created a card with the sketch showcasing some of the April 2016 release products, specifically sewing-themed stamps and dies. And while I wasn’t trying to use the colors in the inspiration photo, it looks like I did (at least a little bit).

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Stitch by Stitch 2 and cut the panel with the largest die in the Stitched Square Stacklets set. I cut a circle with the Stitched Circle Stacklets and embossed it with the Cross Stitch folder. The buttons were cut with the Little Bits – Buttons set and the needle and thread with the Little Bits – Needle & Thread set (I cut the spool from cardstock in the Woodgrain Textured Cardstock Pack and the needle with Premium Cardstock – Metallic Neutrals).
