Simon Says Stamp FLUTTERING BY Release

Hello! Today, I’m delighted to share three projects featuring products from the Simon Says Stamp FLUTTERING BY release.

SSS Fluttering By Release

My first project showcases the Picture Book Squirrel which I’ve paired with Flickering Butterflies and the Woodgrain Block.

SSS Fluttering By Release - Picture Book Squirrel

I cut the Picture Book Squirrel from white cardstock and colored the pieces with Copic markers. I pieced them together over a piece of cardstock, which was cut slightly smaller than the assembled squirrel, and glued the colored pieces to it. For a bit of whimsy, I added googly eyes.

I clear-embossed the Big Thanks sentiment cut from white cardstock and backed it with vellum, cut with the same die set. I added the sentiment to cardstock cut with the Woodgrain Block die. I cut the Flickering Butterflies from cardstock which had been colored with Copic markers. The clouds were cut with the Picture Book Sky Background die.

My second project features the Center Cut Burst background stamp.

I began by inking a cardstock panel with Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, and Picked Raspberry. I then stamped the Center Cut Burst stamp (without the center) with Archival black ink. I next stamped the sentiment from the Big Thanks Words stamp set. I added the die-cut Thanks, which I cut with the dies in the Big Thanks die set, above the stamped sentiment.

My final project today showcases the Abstract Triangle stencil on a CAS thank you card.

I inked white cardstock through the stencil with Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch. I added a sentiment strip stamped with the Big Thanks Words stamp set to which I adhered a clear-embossed Big Thanks cut from black cardstock.

Picture Book Panda

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS birthday card featuring the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Panda die set.

SSS Picture Book Panda

To create the background, I used a technique shown by Laura Bassen in the Online Card Classes Background Check class; I repeatedly die cut the Simon Says Stamp Simple Numbers Dies (the set appears to be discontinued). I have the set of numbers still together, which makes this technique fairly straightforward.

I die-cut and assembled the panda and added him to a strip cut from the Lawn Fake Tan cardstock which I stamped and heat-embossed with a sentiment from the Birthday Messages set.

SSS Picture Book Panda

I cut the balloons with the Penny Black Uplifting dies from Lawn Fawn cardstock in Chili Red, Sunflower, and Blue Jay. I used the Taylored Expressions Balloon Strings die set to cut the strings. I tucked two of the balloon strings behind the sentiment strip and let the string from the largest balloon come in front.

My second project combines felt flowers created with the Roll With It Flower 1 and Roll With It Flower 2 mixed media dies.

I cut the flowers from a variety of felt colors – Cotton Candy, BubblegumCherry BlossomPink Sherbert – and glued them with hot glue. These felt flowers are a cinch to make! I applied embossing paste to Pink Champagne cardstock, cut with the largest Frayed Edge Stacklets die, through the Blooming Beautiful Stencil. I heat-embossed a Simply Stamped – Wreath sentiment on Sugar Cube  cardstock cut with the one of the dies in the Stitched Oval Stacklets set. I used hot glue to glue the felt flowers to the oval and added a few sprigs of greenery cut with the Leafy Branch die.

TE April 2018 Release – All About Mom

Hello! Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions April 2018 Release Sneak Peeks. Both of my projects today are focused on Mom. By the way, the products I have been sneaking will be released  tomorrow – Thursday, April 5 @ 7 AM PDT!

My first project today is a CAS Mother’s Day card featuring the Caps Lock – Mom die set with the Caps Lock Companion – Mom/Dad stamp set.

TE April 2018 Release

I stamped the background with the Color Me Background stamp on Sugar Cube cardstock and colored it with Copic markers and colored pencils. I stamped the background again and did not color it. I cut the Caps Lock – Mom from both backgrounds and popped the uncolored letters up on the colored background with foam adhesive. I cut out the colored background with the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die. I added Oreo cardstock behind the cutouts on the colored background.

TE April 2018 Release

I heat-embossed the “Thankful for You” on Oreo cardstock with the TE white embossing powder and cut the sentiment with the smallest Double-ended Flag Stacklets die. For the card base, I dry-embossed Confetti Cake cardstock with the Weathered embossing folder.

My second project today is a CAS Mother’s Day card featuring the Choosy Moms stamp set and Little Bits – Wine dies.

TE April 2018 Release

To create the background, I colored Sugar Cube cardstock with Plum Punch ink and cut the panel with the Hole Punch Cutting Plate.

I die-cut the wine bottle and glasses with the Little Bits – Wine set from cardstock which I had adhered with Window Acetate to give the pieces shine like glass. I created a frame, cut from Gold Foil cardstock with one of the dies in the Stitched Frame Stacklets 2 set, for the gold heat-embossed Choosy Moms sentiment.

TE April 2018 Release – Petal Power

Hello! Welcome to Day 2 of the Taylored Expressions April 2018 Release Sneak Peeks. Today, it’s all about the flowers! This month’s products will be released Thursday, April 5 @ 7 AM PDT!

My first project showcases the Rosette Cutting Plate paired with a sentiment from the Plot Twist stamp set and features two of the three new colors in the TE palette – Guava and Confetti Cake!

TE April 2018 ReleaseI started by cutting Sugar Cube cardstock with the Rosette Cutting Plate and cutting the blooms and leaves from Cherry Pop, Guava, Lemon Meringue, and Peapod cardstock. I added the cardstock pieces to the frame and taped the back.

TE April 2018 Release

I heat-embossed the Plot Twist  sentiment on Confetti Cake cardstock, which I adhered to the back of the assembled Rosette Cutting Plate frame. I created a card base from Cupcake cardstock and added the assembly to the base. For a final touch, I added butterflies cut from Sugar Cube cardstock with the Little Bits – Butterflies die set.

Supplies: (new products will be released April 5)

My second project showcases the Big Blooms – Zinnia set with corresponding dies.

TE April 2018 Release

I stamped and heat-embossed the Big Blooms – Zinnia images on Watercolor cardstock and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. While those dried, I stamped the Simply Stamped – Wreath sentiment on Confetti Cake cardstock and heat-embossed it with TE Clear Embossing Powder. I cut the zinnias and leaves with their corresponding dies and added them to the card base.
