Bzz, bzz … Hello!

Today I’m sharing a playful “Hello” card showcasing some Paper Smooches supplies (now retired).

Paper Smooches Bees & Flowers

I die cut the Bees from several different cardstock colors. I cut the Dainty Flowers 2 from white cardstock and used just the outlines so that the emphasis would be on the colorful bees. The sentiment (a Savvy wood stamp I bought at Impress) was stamped on cardstock that I cut with the smallest die in the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles set. I used the largest die in that set to cut the woodgrain paper.

CAS(E) this Sketch #177

I’m playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch! #177 with Penny Black stamps and dies.

Here’s my take on the fabulous sketch:

CAS(E) this Sketch #177

To begin, I cut the flowers and flourishes with the 51-207 Layered Flower and 51-198 Flourish & Butterflies sets from cardstock which I’d colored with Distress Inks.

I stamped the sentiment from 30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles onto a white cardstock panel. I stamped 40-314 Fronds (a background stamp with a tropical feel) with white pigment ink onto turquoise cardstock for the accent strip on the left. The flowers and flourishes were added with foam adhesive.

Happy Birthday! TE Share Joy Challenge #40

I’m playing along with Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #40.

I used the sketch (rotated 90 degrees) to create a CAS Birthday shaker card.

I took my color cues from the patterned paper background (TE 6×6 Paper Pack – Rainbow Brights). I framed the Happy Birthday Banner (which is actually sitting on top of an Acrylic Sheet) with a frame cut with the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 set. I embellished the scene with the Little Bits – Balloons to which I added strings from the Party Time set.

Summer of Creative Chemistry Week 3

I’ve finally had a chance to play along with the challenges at Summer of Creative Chemistry with Tim Holtz over at Online Card Classes.

SummerOfCreativeChemistry-Participant

This week, participants were challenged to create with Perfect Pearls and Distress Inks and Stains.

Here’s my tag using Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls over a stamped Distress Ink background.

SUMMER OF CREATIVE CHEMISTRY Week 3

I stamped the background (Tim Holtz’s Seasonal Catalog 1) with a variety of Distress Inks onto a manila tag to which I’d earlier applied (and dried) Antique Linen Distress Stain.

Once stamped, I brushed on the Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold. After applying the Perfect Pearls, I added Distress Inks to the edges. The Perfect Pearls are brushed away to some extent on the edges.

SUMMER OF CREATIVE CHEMISTRY Week 3

I die cut the Umbrella Man from Kraft-Core cardstock and added a Tim Holtz Word Band, in lieu of any sentiment. I don’t have any Tim Holtz Halloween dies, but I figured that the Umbrella Man was “curious” about the Halloween items in the background.

It was a lot of fun (albeit outside of my comfort zone) to delve into a more layered project!

Lawn Fawn Father’s Day

Today, I’m sharing a card created for Father’s Day using the color scheme from colourQ Challenge #346.

CQC_346

I used an older Lawn Fawn set – Dad’s Day.

Lawn Fawn Father's Day

After stamping the ties in the four ink colors, I added a heat-embossed sentiment, attached to the card panel with foam adhesive. I tried a number of different inks – both dye and pigment – while creating this card! I need to add a light blue pigment ink to my collection and get a reinker for my Fresh Inks navy pad. (My ink collection knows no bounds!)
