CAS3: Day One

Today’s Clean & Simple Cardmaking 3 from Online Card Classes lesson included the inlaid die cut technique, as shown by Debby Hughes. I CASEd Debby’s card using  the same and similar supplies.

Honestly, the most difficult part of this card was making those paint splatters. I’m not a big mister/sprayer, and I took baby steps when adding those. Debby seems to really have a knack for adding random spots and splatters to her projects. I will practice. And as I’ve said before, the things you learn in these courses is invaluable. Time and again, I try things I’d never try when following the class examples.

Hope you’re having a fabulous start to your week!

Paintbrush Hello

It’s been raining all week and I’m drawn to some bright colors at the moment! Yay for rainbows!

PaperSmoochesPaintBrushHello

After stamping several of the stamps from Positive Strokes, I die cut the hello, from the Quote Tag set, out of the rainbow panel. I attached the panel and that little bit of the “e” onto a charcoal card base.

I’m entering my card in this week’s Paper Smooches Spark Challenge – “Anything Goes.”

Have a fantastic weekend – and may the sun shine wherever you are!

Congrats Larissa!

Penny Black: “Hi There”

Today, I’m sharing a CAS card, suited for any occasion, crafted with some of the new goodies from the Penny Black “Happy Everything” release.

HiThere

I die cut the feather from the feather & frames [#51-039] set in a variety of blue and gray cardstock colors and paired them with a heat embossed sentiment from the kind words [#30-226] set. The feathers are adhered to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

Poppystamps: Hello Spring!

Today I’m sharing a Spring-themed card. I couldn’t resist combining bunnies from the recent Poppystamps Release cut out of a variety of pastel cardstock.

Bunnies

I finished off the card front with hand-drawn stitching. I really like how the colors pop out against the kraft. This card would work equally well with a “Happy Easter” or “Hello Spring” sentiment inside.
