Rainy Day: A Poppystamps Project

Today, I’m sharing a Poppystamps project. We’ve had a spectacular summer in the Pacific Northwest, but all good things do come to an end, and rainy days are just around the corner. For this card, I wanted to create a warm, inviting interior that said, “Even if it’s raining, it’s still cheery inside my home.”

I know that an open umbrella is considered “bad luck” by some. I just couldn’t resist adding a bright pop of color to the scene.

The chair was stamped on patterned paper and die cut with its matching die. I paper pieced the pillow.

For my card, I was inspired by the floral motif and the colors in the image. I used Mama Elephant’s Water Blooms stamp set and a variety of inks on my single-layer card.

Now, it’s your turn. Head on over to the Pinspired Challenges blog to see the creations from the rest of the “Pin Heads” and find out the details for playing along. Three runner ups will be chosen and win a “Pin Pal” badge for their blog. A winner, who will also be chosen by the “Pin Heads,” will win a “Pin Perfect” badge for their blog along with the prize from Ellen Hutson. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Late Summer: A Poppystamps Project

Today I’m sharing a creation for Poppystamps. I’ve had the idea for this card in my head for quite awhile. There’s a place where we walk Ginger, our golden retriever, that I wanted to capture on a card.

Pinspired Challenge #16

Taking some artistic license, I added the birds for a seasonal touch. We’ve been seeing both crows and red-winged blackbirds in abundance recently, and the bit of licorice cardstock helps anchor the brighter colors. To capture the grasses in the photo, I used Squash and Meadow cardstock cut with the grassland border die.

I’m still waxing poetic about summer as autumn approaches. While I love the colors of the fall, I like the colors of summer, too. And I’ve always liked primary colors, although I added a few fish cut from Mango cardstock, deviating from the blue/yellow/red color scheme of this card created with one of my favorite sentiments.

Have a terrific weekend!

They Say It’s Your Birthday

Neat & Tangled is turning one, and all this month we’re celebrating!

To get this party started, I created a single-layer card combining stamps from Sketchy Cupcakes, Just Thinking of You, and Hey Cookie.
