SCC2: Week One, Day Five

What a week – I’m blown away by the material that’s being presented, as well as talent of teachers, guest artists and fellow classmates in the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 class!

My card for today’s homework is based on the one shared by Jennifer McGuire.

SCC2: Week One, Day Five

This wasn’t a “one take” card! I made some stamp and color adjustments after my first go. I didn’t have the sentiment stamps that Jennifer used, so I cut apart of the ones in the Truly Appreciated set from Hero Arts. Also Jennifer had machine stitched her vellum overlay on the left hand side. I used a white gel pen to draw fake stitching.

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Well…! It was Worth your time and effort! I also don’t’ have a good sewing machine, but have thought about looking for a very small and compact unit….as I love the look on cards. I have a very old, very heavy and outdated Kenmore machine, but it’s never been user friendly and I think in time, I will get something new and something easy to use, for the few times, I need to hem or mend something! My machine is over 25 years old and not fun to use…! It’s buried in a storage closet downstairs and I don’t have ANY space for something that big in my craft room….! I wish I could find a little hand held one, that worked just for this type of thing?

I love the new colors and think you did a fabulous job on this. Not sure I want to do the pencil lines, but may try over the weekend, if time permits?

  2. Wow, your card looks great! Very close-to-exact what we had in class, and that’s amazing! I love the colors and also the flowers you used. Very pretty! I like your kind of stitching, too, ’cause that’s my way, as well! lol

  3. Gorgeous card, Jean! Love your faux stitching and your silver embossed sentiment is just beautiful! Such a pretty color combo, too!
