Today I’m sharing my CASE of Stephanie Klauck’s card from the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2.
I made some changes in terms of product to the ones that Stephanie used. The lesson was focused on using Christmas supplies for non-Christmas cards. I didn’t own some of the specific items, so used products that I do own. Stephanie’s card was more elaborate than mine!
I had a calamity of errors (or is it comedy?), but tried to shake them off as I went along. I have really struggled with the two shades of green in this week’s color scheme for unknown reasons, since I like the color green. I colored the wood veneer bird several ways, including with acrylic paint. I had the painted bird adhered to my card, ready to photograph, and then decided I liked the bird stained with Distress Ink and coated with Glossy Accents better!
Looks great!
We are all too hard on ourselves. This card is fabulous!
I think the decisions you made with the bird are ‘Spot On’, Jean! I love your embossed background and all the details make it really look as though we’re looking through the window! Absolutely stunning card!!!
(I really must get this window die…it’s so pretty!)
Superb casing, and i prefer your cloudy sky.
Your card is fabulous! Love your bird! TFS
Love that scene and the window die. I have it, too, so I might have to try this one.
The glossy accents is great! Love your card!
I love how you did your card! The details with the button, embossed background and the bird are perfection!
I love the bird with the glossy accents! Good choice 🙂
SUPER JOB!!!!!!!!! YOUR CARD CAME OUT FABULOUS!!!!!!!!:) I didn’t do this card in-particular but, I did a “CASE” too!!!!!!:) This really is ADORABLE with the window die!!!!!!!!:)
Your bird caught my eye right away. The glossy accents are perfect!
I think this is perfect…I love everything about it. Your colors are just the right tones too…go together perfectly. Great card.
Love the look of this card including the background & the birdie!
What a great card, or should I say “view!”
Lovely! ..so many textures to enjoy.
Jean,
I wanted to tell you how much I love your style. All of your cards are gorgeous! I first noticed your cards on Neat & Tangled so was happy to see you as a guest on the Summer Card class. Great work! Would love to know how you get such deep, crisp embossing when you use an embossing folder. Mine never turn out that nice. Thanks for all of your inspiration!
Thanks, Mindy. Not all of my embossing is this crisp. It seems that the Sizzix brand folders work the best in my Big Shot. Some of the other brands seem to have “soft spots” where there’s not enough embossing. I guess I could add a thin cardstock shim in that case for more thickness before running them through.
