Giveaway closes on Sunday, September 1st, 11:59 pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the blog hop post the following Tuesday. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes.

My cards use similar designs and the same color scheme. The cards measure 4 1/2″ wide by 5 1/4″ tall. The Becca Feeken dies do all of the heavy lifting in these projects – their detail is just amazing!

On my first card I’ve paired the Santa Claus set with the Grand Snow Globe.

Spellbinders Becca Feeken Holiday 2019

I cut the Grand Snow Globe frame from Whip Cream cardstock and backed it with light blue cardstock. I used the Grand Snow Globe pieces as a frame for my card, rather than to create a 3-D object; I trimmed the tabs from the sides.

I cut the front panel of the Santa Claus from Whip Cream cardstock to which I had applied Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink.

I cut the star garland and ornaments from Brush Gold cardstock.

Spellbinders Becca Feeken Holiday 2019

I heat-embossed with gold powder a sentiment on to cardstock colored with Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink.

I placed the Santa piece into the Grand Snow Globe opening and taped it from behind.

I added the star garland piece to patterned paper, which I cut with the circle die in the set, and adhered them to a back panel.

I adhered the front panel to the back with foam adhesive and added the entire assembly to a card base. I then added the ornaments and sentiment.

My second card pairs Reindeer Prance with the Grand Holiday Cabinet.

I cut the Grand Holiday Cabinet from Whip Cream cardstock and backed it with light blue cardstock (cut with the outline die in the set). I used the Grand Holiday Cabinet pieces as a frame for the card; I trimmed off the tabs that are used if making a 3-D object.

I cut the front panel of the Reindeer Prance from Whip Cream cardstock to which I had applied Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink.

Spellbinders Holiday 2019 Release – Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello crafty friends! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop celebrating the Spellbinders Holiday 2019 Release! You should have reached me from the blog of Wanda Guess. I’ve included a full list of participants at the end of my post.

Spellbinders Holiday 2019 Blog Hop

To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky blog reader – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Giveaway closes on Sunday, August 25th 11:59 pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the blog hop post the following Monday. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties, and taxes.

I’m sharing projects created with three die sets in the new collection. Let’s take a look.

My first project showcases the Christmas Bandit die set. I’ve set the bandit into a snow-covered scene.

Spellbinders Holiday 2019 Release - Christmas Bandit

  • I used the Winter Hills die set to create a snowy backdrop. (I trimmed off the edges of the panels; the die set was designed to create a layered tri-fold card.)
  • For the background, I dry-embossed the background with the FaLaLa folder.
  • I cut and assembled the bandit and added him to the scene with foam adhesive. The heat-embossed sentiment reinforces the theme and adds additional color.

One of the great things about this collection is there’s something for everyone. Case in point, the Laurel & Bows Cut and Emboss folder.

Spellbinders Holiday 2019 Release - Laurel & Bows Cut and Emboss

  • I cut and embossed Brush Gold cardstock with the Laurel & Bows Cut and Emboss folder.
  • I heat-embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder on Cranberry Bliss cardstock. I attached the panel to the back of the dry-embossed panel with foam adhesive.
  • I adhered the assembly to a card base. The card measures 5″ x 7″.

Quick, easy, and elegant – perfect for mass production!

My final projects use the Shapeabilities Joy die set. There are so many options available with this set! And again, the set is completely adaptable to one’s own style. My projects reflect my CAS style.

Spellbinders Holiday 2019 Release - Shapeabilities Joy

I created card backgrounds from teal solid cardstock, patterned red paper, and green solid cardstock. For all three cards, I cut the poinsettia blooms with the included die and added them to the JOY back panel with foam adhesive. The back panel for the letters does not cut the center of the “O” but the die set includes a die with which to do so.

For the holidays, I like to add metallic accents. For the teal and red background cards, I cut the letters from Brush Gold cardstock. I cut the flower centers on all of the cards from the gold cardstock.

There really is no limit to the possibilities with this set! I could have cut the greenery pieces, dry-embossed the card base, used glitter or shiny cardstock for the letters, …. You get the idea!

Spellbinders Vintage Treasures Collection Blog Hop

Spellbinders Vintage Treasures Collection Blog HopHello! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop showcasing the Vintage Treasures Collection by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders. You should have reached me from the blog of Hussena Calcuttawala. I have included a list of all of the participants at the end of my post.

To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Giveaway closes on Sunday, July 14th 11:59 pm EDT. The winners will be announced in the blog hop post the following Monday. Winners are responsible for shipping cost, duties, and taxes.

According to the dictionary: vintage (adj): of old, recognized, and enduring interest, importance, or quality; treasure (noun): something of great worth or value; a collection of precious things. With these definitions in mind, I incorporated pearl and metallic accents, as well as traditional color schemes, on my projects. At the same time, I stayed true to my CAS style in the designs. Let’s take a look!

Spellbinders Vintage Treasures Collection Blog Hop

My first two projects use the Brillante Rondelle set. I have used the same design, varying the colors, to show how easy it is to change the project simply based on the color scheme. For both cards, which measure 5 1/2″ square:

  • I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut the panel with the detail and outline dies in the Brillante Rondelle set.
  • I cut cardstock with the outline die for the panel underneath the sentiment section.
  • I cut the outside circle with the detail and outline dies. I cut the piece underneath with the outline die only.
  • I cut the flowers with dies included in the Floral Tiara Topper set. On one I added pearls to the flower centers. On the other I punched circles with a hole punch from gold cardstock.

My next set of cards feature the Marquise Diamond Pendant set.

Spellbinders Vintage Treasures Collection Blog Hop

For both cards:

  • I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut with with both the detail and outline die in the diamond shape.
  • I cut the solid panel with just the outline.
  • I adhered the pieces together and embellished with a detail die included in the set.

My final card combines dies from the Bella Luce Oval and the Floral Tiara Topper sets.

Spellbinders Vintage Treasures Collection Blog Hop

  • I cut the tiara shape with the detail and outline dies twice.
  • I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut it with one of the oval dies in the Bella Luce Oval set. I cut the oval frame with the detail die and the outline.
  • I assembled the pieces on a gold base.
  • I added pearls to the tiara shape and flowers to the oval.

Spellbinders Blog Hop – Shadowbox Collection by Becca Feeken

Spellbinders Shadowbox Collection Blog Hop

Welcome! I am delighted to be sharing two projects as part of the Blog Hop featuring the Spellbinders Shadowbox Collection by Becca Feeken. You should have arrived at my blog from the blog of Jennifer Snyder. The entire blog hop list is included at the end of my post.

Spellbinders Blog Hop - Shadowbox Collection by Becca Feeken

To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. Giveaway closes on Sunday, February 10th 11:59 pm EDT. Winners will be announced in the Spellbinders blog hop post the following Monday. Winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes.

My first project is a shadow box showcasing the Layered Sweet Birdie Thanks Scene.

Spellbinders Blog Hop - Shadowbox Collection by Becca Feeken

To begin, I created the shadow box from solid yellow cardstock with the  Shadowbox Frame with 1″ Border die set. The exterior measures 5 3/8″ x 6 5/8″. I covered the frame front with polka dot patterned paper. (The patterned paper was too light to use to construct the shadow box frame pieces.) I backed the assembled frame with a teal polka-dot patterned paper and a piece of chipboard (for stability). I created the layered scene from solid cardstock, using liquid and foam adhesive. To finish, I added Sweet Blooms Paper Flowers for additional texture.

The collection includes several other Layered Scene die sets which create dynamic focal images. They can be easily changed up simply by choosing different colors of cardstock and/or patterned paper. My second project features the Layered Thinking of You Woodland Scene with which I created a CAS masculine card.

I assembled the die-cut pieces and added them to a 4″ x 5″ dry-embossed card base. This card came together in a matter of minutes!

Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be part of today’s blog hop featuring the Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection by Sharyn Sowell for Spellbinders.

Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog HopFor the hop, I created two cards of the same design showcasing the Robin and Rosy Mug die set. I used different materials and color palettes on the two versions to illustrate the versatility of the set.

Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog Hop

On my first card, I created a textured background using the Circles and Diamonds embossing folder. I die-cut the mug in the Robin and Rosy Mug set, with the floral insert, from red cardstock, which I backed with white cardstock. I cut the bird from light-blue cardstock, which I backed with white (for the wing detail) and black cardstock (for the eye). I attached string from an actual tea bag with a small staple to the die-cut tea bag (crafted from kraft and red). I stamped the sentiment in black ink on white cardstock.

Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog Hop

On my second card, I die-cut the tea mug with the floral insert from glossy white cardstock (to look like a china cup), which I backed with cardstock to which I had applied red microfine glitter.

Spellbinders Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection Blog Hop

I cut the bird from cardstock to which I applied black microfine glitter. The bird is backed with red glitter (wing detail) and glossy white cardstock (eye). The tea bag is crafted from cardstock, to which I applied sand and red microfine glitter. I heat-embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock.
