TE June 2017 Release Sneak Peeks Day One – Anchors Away!

Hello! Welcome to Day One of the Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks. This month’s release features wonderful stamps and dies for your summer projects! Today, we’re on the seas with nautical-themed cards. Mark you calendar, the June 2017 Release will be in the store on Thursday, June 8 @ 7 AM PST!

For my first card I created a CAS tongue-in-cheek scene with die-cuts to accompany the sentiment from Seas the Day (a fabulous set of nautical-themed sentiments)!

The background was stamped with the Striped Background stamp (one I will use again and again!) in Salt Water Taffy. I stamped the sentiment on top with the Cherry Pop ink.

Taylored Expressions June 2017 ReleaseI placed the die-cut oar from the Sitting Pretty Nautical Accessories set and the Little Bits – Life Preserver over a die-cut wave created with the Build a Scene – Rolling Waves set.

For my second project, I created a nautical-themed birthday card combining On the Water – Sailboat and the Sunshine Cutting Plate with a sentiment from Seas the Day.

If you’ve followed my blog, you know my favorite color combination is red, white, and blue! I had a lot of fun picking out the colors with which to craft the On the Water – Sailboat.

Penny Black – Same CAS Design, Two Cards

Hello! Today, I’m sharing two cards with the same design featuring the Penny Black 51-232 Layered Scene die set.

For the first card, I cut the scene from two different cardstock colors, backed the scene with a soft blue, and added the assembly to a white card base on which I stamped one of the sentiments included in the 30-418 Stitched Flowers set. I matched the ink color to the soft brown in the scene.

For the second card, I chose brighter/more saturated colors and added the assembled scene to a dry-embossed card base.

I cut the sentiment with a die in the 51-284 Filled With Love set. (I cut the sentiment three times and glued the pieces together for extra depth.)

All of the colored cardstock is from Stampin’ Up. I’ve got a package of almost every color, as well as a lot of retired colors!

Lawn Fawn Father’s Day Card

Hello! With Father’s Day just a few weeks away (how did it get to be almost June!), I’m sharing a Father’s Day card created with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.

I created a forest/mountain scene with a trio of Copic-colored critters (not realistic at all!).

Stamping the Dad + Me sentiment on one of the Everyday Sentiment Banners made it easier for me to place the critters than if I had chosen to heat-emboss the sentiment on the forest panel. I used different Copic-combinations of browns for the critters so that they wouldn’t all be colored the same.

Lawn Fawn Flamingo Hello

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a Hello card created with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.

Lawn Fawn Flamingo Together

I stamped and colored the Flamingo Together images with Copic markers. I added the colored flamingos, cut with their corresponding dies, to a panel on which I combined Distress Inks using the Claritystamp Brushes. I cut the letters with Cole’s ABCs from white cardstock and foam.

To finish off the card, I used a die in the Scalloped Rectangle Stackables set to create a flirty frame which I felt went well with the feminine theme of the card.

Penny Black Simplicity – It’s the Little Things

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a bright CAS card, suited for a variety of occasions, featuring a combination of Penny Black dies.

I cut the sentiment with the 51-340 Dream Big die several times for additional depth. I cut the fish with the 51-314 Fancy Fish die from a variety of cardstock colors. I used an embossing folder for the waves peeking out through the hole.
