It’s easy to change up a stamped scene with just a couple of elements! For my two cards, featuring the same scene using stamps from the Lovely Landscapes set, the differences come in the finishing steps.

TE Ink Launch

I started my design with how I would stamp the flowers (two separate stamps for the blossoms and stems). I wanted to explore the Taylored Expressions ink palette by trying out both green inks (for the stems) – Peapod and Granny Smith – and several of the colors for the blossoms – Cherry PopJelly Donut and Strawberry Milkshake. The leaves and flowers should be stamped at slightly different heights for visual interest. The flowers can be rotated when stamped for additional variation.

I love the coverage of the ink. My design depended on the ink of the flowers being able to partially cover the ink on the stems. To finish out the scene, I stamped the bird house and the bird with two other ink colors not used for the flowers (as I wanted the scene to be as colorful as possible!) – Lollipop and Cookie Monster.

On both versions, I stamped the sentiment with the hybrid-ink formulation in Oreo. This formulation works with alcohol-based markers. I die cut the fence from Sugar Cube cardstock with the Picket Fence Border die. I laid the fence across the stamped scene for placement of bird, so that the bird appears to be sitting on top of the fence.

On the first card (shown above), I added a frame cut with a die in the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 set from Cookie Monster cardstock.

For the second scene, I added grass cut with the Wispy Grass Border die from Peapod cardstock and a watering can cut from Earl Grey cardstock with the Little Bits – Watering Can die.

The ink colors perfectly coordinate with the Taylored Expressions cardstock, making the selection of coordinating colors on one’s project a breeze!

Note: The colors will stamp dark to begin with and fade to match the cardstock color as the ink seeps into the paper (this is where the superior coverage comes from!).

Hello Summer!

Today I’m sharing a card showcasing the Taylored Expressions Summer Nights Paper Pack.

The patterned papers feature a red/white/blue color scheme perfect for summer projects, patriotic or otherwise. My card celebrates a variety of summer activities!

TE Summer Nights Patterned Paper

Red/white/blue is one of my favorite color schemes, no matter what the season, but most especially in the summer months. I used one of the square dies in the Stitched Square Stacklets set to cut out the patterned paper squares (I clearly like the star theme!) to create a patchwork background. For the embellishments, I cut Little Bits – FireworkLittle Bits – Ice Cream ConeLittle Bits – Flip Flops and Little Bits – Popsicles from TE solid cardstock in coordinating colors (Cherry Pop Sugar CubeBlue Corn and Toffee) and placed them on the squares with foam adhesive. One of my favorite things about the TE patterned paper packs is that they coordinate perfectly with the TE cardstock colors!

I added a sentiment from the Little Bits of Summer set, which I stamped with my MISTI – Precision Stamping Tool (the set contains a number of words that can be put together for different summer-themed sentiments).

And there it is – a quick-to-put-together, summer-themed card with a lot of pattern and color and not a lot of fuss!

The Card Concept #56

Today, I’m sharing a card created for The Card Concept #56 – Sweet Tea.

My card features a Clean & Layered style using Taylored Expressions stamps and dies.

TE Little Bits - Teacups

I was inspired by the feminine feel of the inspiration image, such as the flutes on the cups, as well as the colors. I used Little Bits – Teacups to cut the teacups (embellished with Rainbow Brights Flowers sequins), which I put against a background cut with a die in the Stitched Circle Stacklets set and dry-embossed with the Paisley folder. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Some Like It Hot set (which with its cursive and leaf/heart illustration plays into the feminine and frilly look). I finished the card front with a banner cut with one of the dies in the Skinny Mini Valentine Borders set. The smaller hearts were cut with one of the other dies in the Skinny Mini Valentine Borders set and the biggest one with the Little Bits – Love Confetti set.

Life is an Adventure – TE Share Joy Challenge #36

I’m playing along with the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #36.

TE Share Joy Challenge #36

I created a CAS card showcasing the On the Road – Camper die from the May release. There are so many different variations with this set!

TE Share Joy Challenge #36

I created a background with one of the Picture Perfect – Sunny Days dies and a strip of cardstock (for the road), which I framed with the Pockets & Pages – 3×4 Photo Frame. The Happy Trails sentiment was stamped on the card front.

TE Share Joy Challenge #36

A few weeks ago my husband and I went to a “Farms and Frills” Junkers Market at which there were a number of vintage trailers. They were decorated inside and out! Cute, cute!

Kick Back and Relax!

Today, I’m sharing a “just because” card (just because it’s almost Memorial Day, just because the days are warmer, …) featuring summer-themed stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions!

My card showcases the Little Bits – Margarita and Little Bits – Martini dies.

TE Little Bits Margarita & Martini

Aren’t those drinks fun? I’ve used the Little Bits dies to cut cardstock from a variety of colors. I cut the background from black cardstock with the Eventful – Pool Party die (I wanted a background against which the drinks would pop). I stamped a sentiment from the Little Bits of Summer set onto the card front (from which I cut a square with the Stitched Square Stacklets set to form a frame).
