We want to thank everyone who has participated this past year, as well as our sponsors for their generosity and support!

The winner of Challenge #24 will receive a stamp set of their choice from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.

I was inspired by both the snowflake motif and the colors in the Pinterest image for my card.

Christmas Window

I’ve mentioned before how much I like children’s picture books. I miss the days when my sons were young and we read them together. And unfortunately I just can’t get Ginger, our golden retriever, interested. 🙂 I recently “read” Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree and created a card inspired by the book.

In the book, Mr. Willowby’s tree is too tall, so he trims off the top and gives it to his maid. She, in turn, finds it too tall and trims off a bit, and so on and so on until mice use the tiniest of tree tops for their Christmas tree. I thought about cutting the top of the Memory Box tree die and bending it a bit, but in the end just used the cover photo as a jumping off point for my card.

Christmas Window
I used a Poppystamps die cut cat in the window to help create perspective. The various layers are adhered with dimensional adhesive to the dry-embossed card base.

Supplies:

Penny Black Peace on Earth

Today, I’m sharing Christmas tags created with Penny Black’s Tagged [51-007] and Wings of Peace [51-011] Creative Dies.

Penny Black Peace on Earth

I cut Penny Black “Mix and Match” papers with the two dies at the same time, positioning the tag die first and then setting the dove die inside. I stamped and heat-embossed the tags with sentiments from Yuletide Greetings [30-132] and backed them with tags cut from metallic cardstock. I really like the deep jewel-toned cardstock with the silver and gold accents. These tags came together very quickly!

Penny Black Deck the Halls

Can you believe it’s less than two weeks from Christmas?! Today, I’m sharing a holiday card created with the Christmas tree stamp from Penny Black’s Season’s Wishes set [30-201]. It’s a versatile clear stamp set with holiday sentiments.

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment tree three times  –  on black cardstock, olive cardstock and red cardstock. For the black cardstock panel, I applied white pigment ink with my finger to give the appearance of chalk (this was done after the heat embossing). I cut selected words from the olive and red cardstock and adhered the words to the black panel. I finished the card off on a patterned paper base with accents of baker’s twine and a bell.

Poppystamps Thank You

Today, I’m sharing a Thank You card with a winter scene created with two Poppystamps stamps. It’s nice to have thank you notes on hand to send just after the holidays.

Poppystamps Thank You

To begin, I stamped the trees with pigment ink onto white cardstock and clear embossed them. I then placed a mask, into which I’d cut a circle, over the trees and applied ink to represent a sun lying low on the horizon. Next, I covered the sun with the circle I’d cut out of the first mask and also added a mask below the trees, which was cut in a manner to suggest a snowy bank. I applied blue ink onto the sky area. Finally, I adhered my scene onto kraft cardstock heat-embossed with the “thank you” sentiment.
