Pinspired Challenge #13

Welcome! It’s time for another Pinspired Challenge. The photo is for you to interpret anyway you want. Be inspired by the colors, the style, the theme – it’s up to you!

This challenge is sponsored by My Time Made Easy who are offering the winner the template of their choice from their online store.

Pinspired Challenge #13

I drew inspiration from the color scheme and the gingham pattern in the photo. For my card, I used one of the My Time Made Easy kits – Grammy’s Sewing Kit. I fussy cut the digital images (as I don’t own a Silhouette) that I had recolored in Photoshop.

Now, it’s your turn. Head on over to the Pinspired Challenges blog to see the creations from the rest of the “Pin Heads” and find out the details for playing along. Three runner ups will be chosen and win a “Pin Pal” badge for their blog. A winner, who will also be chosen by the “Pin Heads,” will win a “Pin Perfect” badge for their blog along with the prize from My Time Made Easy. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Summer Card Camp 2: Week One

There were three fabulous sketches and a color scheme provided in today’s lesson for the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 class.

Summer Card Camp 2: Week One

My card is based on the one shared by Jennifer McGuire. I chose a couple different supplies than the ones that Jennifer used, but otherwise my card is very similar. I put Creative Tape onto the back of white cardstock before I cut layers of the sentiment to give the sentiment some depth on the card. I added Creative Tape to the blue cardstock as well. I’ve found that using Creative Tape makes it easy to adhere those delicate die cuts to one another and to the card base.

Supplies: Mama Elephant Water Blooms; Hero Arts Out of Print background stamp; VersaMagic, Stampin’ Up and Memento Luxe inks; Paper Smooches die; Hero Arts gems; Memory Box cardstock

Summer Card Camp 2011

As the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 kicks off tomorrow, I’m sharing a card I made based on one by Jennifer McGuire from Summer Card Camp 2011. When I took that class two years ago, I owned only a few stamps, one ink pad, and I had no idea what I was getting into! When I saw Jennifer’s card at the time, I had absolutely no idea how to make it and certainly didn’t own the tools or stamps to make it.

Summer Card Camp 2011

I stamped watercolor paper with the Out of Print background stamp, die cut into hearts, and then watercolored them with Distress Inks.

One of my favorite aspects of the Summer Card Camp classes are the fabulous color combinations that I wouldn’t necessarily consider on my own. Jennifer’s card was colored with blues and greens. I chose a variation of another color scheme shared in the class for my card.

Can’t wait for the class to start! Have a great day!

Stretch Your Stamps – Distress Ink Watercoloring

I’m sharing another card from the Stretch Your Stamps Online Card Class. This is my version of one of the cards created for that class by Jennifer McGuire using the Hero Arts Hearts and Flowers stamp set.

Stretch Your Stamps - Distress Ink Watercoloring

I watercolored the flowers with a combination of Distress Inks. The card background is stamped with the Out of Print stamp. I used Bubble Gum shadow ink on Punch cardstock. I initially tried stamping with Versamark ink, but it barely showed up. Then I tried stamping with the Punch chalk ink, but that was too dark. The Bubble Gum was just right!

Have a fabulous day!

Supplies:

Happy 4th of July!

Happy July! I’ve seen some fantastic cards created with the Lawn Fawn Happy 4th stamp set and wanted to join in the fun!

Happy 4th of July!

The two fireworks (bottle rockets?) were stamped, fussy-cut, and then added to the card with dimensional adhesive. I cut the sentiment into two pieces so that I could stack it.

To those of you in the US – have a safe and happy 4th of July celebration!
