TE Merry & Bright Holiday Die-cut Door

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card created with Taylored Expressions supplies using a non-traditional color scheme.

TE Merry & Bright Holiday Die-cut Door

I was going to claim this as a “no stamps” card but then remembered I used the Snow Day Background! I started by stamping the background with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers ink. Next I cut the door from Door to Door 2 from Lollipop cardstock. I backed the window with vellum and then again with Sugar Cube cardstock. The Little Bits – Ice Skates held with the bow in Ornament Accessories is the door decor. I cut snow for the top of the door with the Door to Door Winter Decor set. The sentiment is cut from Silver Foil with the Picture Perfect – Vertical die, trimmed and tucked behind the snow. The base needed some textured, so I dry-embossed Cookie Monster cardstock with the Diagonal Stripe embossing folder. And Santa has been by, so his (or hers?) sack, cut with dies in the By the Fireside – Santa set, are left at the door.

May the Christmas Season Bring You Peace

Hello! Today, I’m sharing another CAS holiday card created with the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Greetings stamp set. Several weeks ago, I shared four cards created with the stamp set that you can see here.

Simon Says Stained Glass Greetings Stamp Set

On this card, I combined a die-cut dove (Penny Black’s 51-070 The Gift), cut from gold foil, with the gold, heat-embossed, upper-case PEACE sentiment. I heat-embossed the smaller sentiment white on red cardstock and cut it with a small banner die. The patterned paper background is from an American Crafts pad released last year or the year before.

Hello! Welcome to the Taylored Expressions November 2017 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store!

I used the Stitched Circle Stacklets with the Inside Scallop Circle Stacklets to create three frames in which I placed the Little Bits – Balloons and Build a Cake die-cuts. The patterned paper is from the Playful Patterns – Bold package. I heat-embossed the Friendly Phrases sentiment and cut it with a die in the Double-Ended Flag Stacklets set.

For my second card, I used the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets with the Inside Scallop Rectangle Stacklets to create two frames in which I placed the Stacked Teacups. The patterned paper that fills the teacups and shown in the yellow and pink-striped backgrounds is from the Playful Patterns – Bold package.

Just as I did in the first card, I heat-embossed the Friendly Phrases sentiment and cut it with a die in the Double-Ended Flag Stacklets set. These sets make quick work of adding a sentiment!

Taylored Expressions – 2018 Display Easel Calendars

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions November 2017 Release Sneak Peeks. The November products being sneaked will be released Thursday, November 2 @ 7 AM PST!

Today the focus is on calendar gifts and the introduction of a new Display Easel die set.

I have created calendar displays for January, February, March, and April 2018. I have shown four different colors for the Display Easel. (In reality, you would probably only use one easel and tear off the calendar each month.) The Easel die includes a ledge die on which each month’s scenes rest.

Let’s start with a look at January!

I stamped and colored the Calendar Critters image and added him to a scene created with Build a Scene – Calendar – 5 x 7 and the Little Bits – Snowflake Confetti. The Build a Scene Christmas patterned paper was cut with the rectangle die in the Display Easel set, as was the scalloped frame. These dies make creating the scene a breeze.

From month-to-month, I changed up the colors and patterned papers to coordinate with the season. For all of the scenes, I added die-cuts for texture and visual interest. These calendar scenes came together quickly following the formula – Copic-colored critter, background patterned paper, die-cut scene pieces.

I followed the same formula for February. I used Build a Scene patterned paper, a die-cut grassy hill, and a tree cut with the Build a Scene – Trees set.

For March I used Build a Scene – Calendar – 5 x 7,  Build a Scene patterned paper,  Build a Scene – Trees set, and Build a Scene – Calendar 2.

For the dark April skies, I used patterned paper from a new set being released Thursday – Playful Patterns – Savory. I added pieces from the Build a Scene – Calendar – 5 x 7 set and the Picket Fence Border.

Lawn Fawn Holiday JOY

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS holiday card showcasing the Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows stamp set. It has been drizzling here all day and it is dark outside – a little color was in order!

Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows

I have had this stamp for a couple of years and never used it (looks like it was released in 2013!). I colored the birds with Copic markers and cut the images with their corresponding dies. The branches are stamped with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo ink.

Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows

I used the Stitched Woodgrain backdrop for the card base and for the circle in the center. The bokeh/snow patterned paper is from an older Lawn Fawn pad. I die-cut the sentiment with Cole’s ABCs from Taylored Expressions Watermelon cardstock. (I tried a more traditional red cardstock but it just didn’t work with the brightly-colored birds.)
