End of Summer Beach Scene

Today, I’m sharing a “Thinking of You” card in honor of the end-of-summer. The changing of the seasons is always bittersweet, and for me, especially at the end of the summer!

I created this card a couple of weeks ago when the weather was still summery, but today the PNW drizzle has resumed! This will probably be my last “summer-themed” card of the year as Halloween and holiday supplies are now out on my work table! I used the Taylored Expressions Build a Scene Rolling Hills and Rolling Waves to create the sand and waves. While the Avery Elle stamp set coordinates with their Hello word die, I find myself using the sentiments alone as I really like the font.

Reverse Confetti September SFYTT

Have you seen this month’s Sketch for You to Try at Reverse Confetti? I created a back-to-school card using the sketch as my starting point.

Here’s my take on the sketch, featuring a sentiment from My World and the Globe Confetti Cuts:

I cut both gray and red cardstock with the Globe Confetti Cuts and backed the globe with a circle cut from patterned paper (Echo Park’s Teacher’s Pet collection). The sentiment, apropos for a new school year (or any new undertaking), was stamped on patterned paper.

Mojo Monday 414 – Happy Fall

I’m playing along with the Mojo Monday 414 Challenge with a CAS fall-themed card created with Reverse Confetti stamps and Confetti Cuts.

To begin, I cut kraft and red cardstock with the Easy As Pie Confetti Cuts set (I cut both the pie top and bottom twice for added dimension). I heat-embossed a sentiment from Forever Fall on a die cut created with one of the dies in the Layered Banner Duo Confetti Cuts set. The apple patterned paper was cut with a die in the Documented Confetti Cuts set.

September Release Reverse Confetti Blog Hop

I’m sharing two CAS cards combining die cuts and stamps.

For my first card, I used the Double Scallop Garland Confetti Cuts with a sentiment from Spooky Sentiments.

I cut black cardstock with the open scallop garland and colored cardstock with the closed garland, attaching them together with Ranger Matte Medium glue. I added them in a whimsical manner to the card base, which had been stamped with a Halloween sentiment.

For my second project, I die cut the Thanks from the Thanks Tag Confetti Cuts in four shades of yellow/orange. I also cut the Thanks in white as well and attached the colored cardstock die cuts to the white ones for additional dimension. I stamped a white cardstock panel with a sentiment from the Fancy Word Coordinates set.

CAS Watercolored Autumn Die Cuts

It’s September, and with that, we begin the fall season! I know that the equinox, marking the beginning of fall, isn’t until later in the month. But to me, the season has arrived, and after a summer drought, the leaves here in the Pacific Northwest are already turning gold and red. My CAS card features the 51-072 Autumn Jewels die cut set from Penny Black paired with a sentiment cut with word die in the 51-040 Hello Frame set.

I painted watercolor paper with Peerless watercolors. Once dry, I cut out the leaves with the Autumn Jewels dies. I cut the Hello out of brown cardstock three times for additional depth. For additonal interest and texture, I adhered the leaves and sentiment onto textured cardstock and added twine.
