12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist Challenge

Ellen Hutson is having a 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist Challenge and I decided to play along. All of the tags have been beautiful and inspiring!

I’m sharing a tag inspired by the Day One tag by Sharon Harnist. I simplified her tag considerably!

Although I first considered paper-piecing the skating couple, an October Afternoon stamp, I colored them with Copics. I finished the tag off with a shimmery ribbon tied at the top with twine and some silver bells.

Kraft, Red and Green

I’ve been enjoying myself this week in the Christmas in a Flurry class at Ellen Hutson’s. Julie has shared some fantastic projects and ideas. What’s emerged from the class for me is how much I like the combination of kraft cardstock with red and green inks. Maybe it’s the dark, or the frequent rains here in the Pacific Northwest, whatever the reason, the combination feels warm and cozy.

This CAS-style card came together quickly using the Hero Arts background stamp. I dipped the wood veneer tree in Versamark and then WOW embossing powder. I heat embossed the tree and then reapplied the ink and powder two more times for a smooth finish.

I also crafted a couple of tags – super simple and fun.

Greetings from the South Pole

A “just because” card combining stamped images from several Paper Smooches sets. After posting my cards for the Winter Groves set, I began to think about a card featuring penguins at the South Pole.  Here’s the result of that brainstorming. 🙂

CFC 78

This week’s CAS-ual Friday Challenge CFC78 is to create a Clean And Simple project that has something torn on it. I used the MFT notebook die giving the appearance of a page or note torn from a spiral. I’ve been turning to this die a lot lately for my projects. I paper-pieced the Paper Smooches Santa and added his skin tone with a Copic.
