I’m playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch! #177 with Penny Black stamps and dies.

Here’s my take on the fabulous sketch:

To begin, I cut the flowers and flourishes with the 51-207 Layered Flower and 51-198 Flourish & Butterflies sets from cardstock which I’d colored with Distress Inks.

I stamped the sentiment from 30-297 Sprinkles and Smiles onto a white cardstock panel. I stamped 40-314 Fronds (a background stamp with a tropical feel) with white pigment ink onto turquoise cardstock for the accent strip on the left. The flowers and flourishes were added with foam adhesive.

I used the sketch (rotated 90 degrees) to create a CAS Birthday shaker card.

I took my color cues from the patterned paper background (TE 6×6 Paper Pack – Rainbow Brights). I framed the Happy Birthday Banner (which is actually sitting on top of an Acrylic Sheet) with a frame cut with the Stitched Frame Stacklets 1 set. I embellished the scene with the Little Bits – Balloons to which I added strings from the Party Time set.

Today, I’m sharing a CAS card created with Penny Black stamps and dies.

To begin, I masked off a vertical strip and applied Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean with foam applicators. I then stamped the sentiment from 30-345 Soar. To embellish, I added butterflies cut with the 51-132 Flights of Fancy and 51-198 Flourish & Butterflies sets, as well as flourishes cut from vellum using Flourish & Butterflies (these are adhered to the panel under the butterflies). This would be an easy card to change up by simply using a different Distress Ink combination.

Recently, I created a card using the same sentiment and a rainbow assortment of die-cut butterflies. You can see that card on this post at the Penny Black Simplicity site.

TE Share Joy Challenge #39I used the sketch to create a CAS summer-themed card showcasing the Summer Nights patterned paper. (I used this same paper on another project just last week.)

I cut equal-sized strips of three of the paper patterns in the pack. I heat-embossed a sentiment created with the Little Bits of Summer stamp set onto a strip of the same size in Blue Corn cardstock.

To finish, I added the die-cut Little Bits – Flip Flops to the focal circle.

Headed Out to Surf!

It’s time to say “Aloha” to the Taylored Expressions June 2016 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store!

Before you head off to shop, I have one more project to show you! My card showcases On the Road – Surf Bus along with the On the Line Beach Cutting Plate.

There are so many “goodies” in the On the Line Beach Cutting Plate with which to embellish a scene! I added a sentiment from the Simply Stamped – Pineapple set, which I stamped onto a cloud cut with the Cloud Duo die set.
