Monkey Business – Die-cut “Just Because” Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a “just because” card combining monkey-themed supplies.

Monkey Business - Die-cut "Just Because" Card

  • I die-cut the Elizabeth Crafts monkey from Bazzill Chocolate Malt (face) and SU Chocolate Chip (body) and assembled him with glue. I tried a number of combinations for the face and body. If I were to die-cut the monkey again, I would consider cutting him from inked cardstock.
  • I used a circle punch to cut the mouth. I used a hexagon punch to cut the nose.
  • I stamped the Monkey Business sentiment and cut the white cardstock with a circle die.
  • I cut another circle in the same yellow as the banana for a mat.
  • I dry-embossed the card background with the Tropical Leaves stencil. Initially I tried an inked background (with the stencil) in green, but the orange worked much better with the colors used for the monkey.
  • I added the monkey and banana with foam adhesive.

CAS Valentine’s Day Die-Cut Birds

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with a combination of die cuts. I have officially moved on from Christmas crafting.

CAS Valentine's Day Die-Cut Birds

The card spotlights the Elizabeth Craft Designs Birds die set; I dressed the birds for cold weather (one of the things I like about crafting Valentine’s Day cards is an opportunity to extend winter-themed supplies). I used Simon Says Stamps dies for the heart background and the sentiment and framed the scene with a now-retired My Favorite Things die. The base is dry-embossed with a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder.

Happy New Year!

Supplies: Simon Says Stamp On Edge Love You die set, We R Memory Keepers Wood Grain embossing folder

Let It Snow – CAS Die-cut Winter Card

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS winter-themed card featuring the Elizabeth Crafts Skis die-cuts. I am transitioning from Christmas cards to winter-themed ones (I like many holiday cards so much, it is a tough transition!).

I created the background with the Taylored Expressions Buffalo Plaid Background stamp. I used the Impression Obsession Fir Tree Border for a layer between the base and the stamped ski slope. The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set.

Winter Wonderland

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a holiday card which showcases the Elizabeth Craft Designs Build a Snowman die set.

Winter Wonderland

I applied embossing paste to the background ( Stampin’ Up Dapper Denim) through the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil (I use this stencil so often during the holidays that I just leave it out). I placed the snowman and broom against a landscape cut with the Memory Box Fresh Pine Curved Border to which I added a few Memory Box Fresh Pine Trees. The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Two Feet Deep set.

Let It Snow – Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up

Hello! I’m still playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up (sadly, this challenge no longer is existence) with a CAS snow/ski-themed card featuring the Elizabeth Crafts’ Skis die set.

Merry Monday Christmas Summer Link-up

I began by die-cutting and assembling the skis and poles. I added Vintage Photo Distress ink to the skis for a little bit more color. I stamped the Hero Arts Let It Snow sentiment on white cardstock, which I die-cut with the mountain die in the Elizabeth Crafts’ Skis die set. I dry-embossed the MFT Stamps Timber Green cardstock base with the Taylored Expressions Cable Knit embossing folder for texture.
