Spellbinders/FSJ Summer Die-cut Scene

Hello! Today I am sharing a die-cut summer scene in which I have combined a number of Spellbinders/Fun Stampers Journey die sets. Knowing what you know about me – I love summer colors like red, white, and blue, and I love to die cut! I was inspired by my recent move to create a “Home Sweet Home” card.

Spellbinders Summer Die-cut Scene

I rotated the window in the Window View die set and added the ledge piece below as a window box. In the background I dry-embossed the Banana Cream cardstock with the Bright Days embossing folder. In the foreground I added a fence cut with the Garden Fence die. To accommodate the window and the fence, I made the card 4 1/2″ tall by 5 1/2″ wide.

I used the A Little Birdie set to cut the small flowers and the green stems. I added a bigger spray of green with the Bloom Cluster die. The larger flower was cut with the Daisy die set. The butterfly is included in the Spring Flutter set.

I printed the computer-generated sentiment on Pineapple Smoothie cardstock.

Enjoy the Ride – Spellbinders May 2019 Small Die of the Month

Hello! Happy May! Today, I am sharing two CAS projects created with this month’s Small Die of the Month die set “Enjoy the Ride” from Spellbinders.

Enjoy the Ride - Spellbinders May 2019 Small Die of the Month

For my first card, I created a sky/road scene with a pink scooter using letters in the set for the “Ciao” sentiment and balloons (die in the set) tied to the back of the scooter.

Enjoy the Ride - Spellbinders May 2019 Small Die of the Month

  • I dry-embossed the roadway piece (gray cardstock) with the Beach Towel Embossing Folder.
  • I cut the “Ciao” sentiment from white cardstock and adhered it to the roadway with liquid adhesive using the dry-embossing lines as a guide for the letters.
  • I cut the scooter out and assembled it with liquid adhesive and tape.
  • I added embroidery floss to the balloons, cut from several shades of pink, and attached them to the sky background with dot and foam adhesive. I taped the strings to the sky background making sure that they would be covered by the back of the scooter. I attached the scooter to the scene with dot adhesive.

I love using color and repetition on card designs, so for my second project, which measures 6 1/2″ x 3 3/4″, I created three scooters in bright colors.

  • I created the Go sentiments on my computer and printed them on white cardstock.
  • I cut and assembled the scooters from brightly colored cardstock.
  • I added a strip of washi paper to the right side of the card base to emphasize the road/transportation theme.
  • I adhered the scooters to the scene with dot adhesive.

Buffalo-Plaid Coffee-Themed Friendship Card

Hello! Today I am sharing a card created with Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey supplies, including the Fun Stampers Journey Buffalo Check stencil, generously provided to me by Spellbinders. I’ve crafted a coffee-themed friendship card using the stencil to make the background paper.

Buffalo-Plaid Coffee-Themed Friendship Card

  • To begin, I inked red cardstock with Walnut Stain Distress Ink through the stencil.
  • I cut the Coffee Brewing coffee pot using the Coffee Brewing die from silver cardstock and backed the openings with white cardstock.
  • I cut the coffee cups, cup handles, and coffee beans with the Cup and Beans die set.
  • I adhered a patterned paper strip to the base of the Buffalo Check background and added the coffee pot, assembled coffee cups, and coffee beans to the scene.
  • The sentiment (from “Coffee Break” MFT Stamps set) was stamped with Walnut Stain ink and cut using a long, skinny rectangle die in the Matting Basics B set.

I’ll definitely be pulling out this stencil again!

The Smallest Things

Hello! Today I’m sharing a CAS inspirational/friendship card combining die-cutting, dry-embossing, and heat-embossing. Let’s take a look.

The Smallest Things

  • I die-cut the Sketched Blooms from both white cardstock and colored cardstock. I applied tape on the back of the diecuts to hold the colored centers.
  • I dry-embossed the blue rectangle background (cut with one of the Matting Basics dies) with the Inspire embossing folder. I added another rectangle in gray as a mat.
  • I heat-embossed the sentiment from the Pinkfresh Studio “My Favorite Things to Say” set and cut it with one of the dies in the Matting Basics sets.
  • I assembled the card on linen-textured card base. The sentiment is adhered with foam adhesive. The dry-embossed rectangle, its frame, and the blooms are attached with dot adhesive.

Spellbinders FSJ - Die-cut Window Scene

  • I used the Fun Stampers Journey Window View die to cut the window pieces.
