Taylored Expressions Patterned Paper Die-Cut Holiday Scene

Hello. Today, I’m sharing a CAS Christmas card showcasing the TE Build a Scene Christmas patterned paper pack.

TE Patterned Paper Christmas Scene

The TE Build a Scene Christmas pack contains papers with all-over patterns, such as the tree one I used in the back panel and the stripes used for the snowman’s scarf, as well as scenes, such as the one I used to place the Little Bits – Snowman. The beauty of these packs – the colors and patterns coordinate wonderfully!

I framed the snowman scene using the Picture Perfect – Vertical die. To add texture and visual interest, I scattered snowflakes cut with the Little Bits – Snowflake Confetti die.

Penny Black Simplicity – Merry and Bright

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS Christmas card showcasing the Penny Black Slapstick/Cling background stamp 40-489 Elaborate.

To create the background panel, I applied Festive Berries and Wild Honey Distress Inks to the 40-489 Elaborate stamp allowing them to blend. I have a feeling that I’ll be using this background stamp in future holiday projects – can you see it stamped silver on deep red? gold on green?

The sentiment from 30-382 Yuletide Wishes was cut with a circle die. I added a vellum circle behind, cut with a die sized just larger than the white sentiment circle.

I cut the greenery with 51-262 Poinsettia Bough and 51-249 Winter Garland from watercolor cardstock colored with Peeled Paint, Wild Honey and Festive Berries Distress Inks.

I created a card with similar design and supplies for the Penny Black Simplicity site. I hope you’ll head over to take a look at that take!

Merry & Bright – Taylored Expressions Oct 2016 Sneak Peeks

Hello. I hope you have been enjoying the Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks. I’ve got two more holiday cards to share with you. The October products will be released tomorrow – Thursday, October 6 @ 7 AM PST!

First up, Santa’s sleigh is loaded for the big night!

Taylored Expressions October 2016 Release

I cut the Dashing Through the Snow sleigh from two different metallic cardstock colors (in the Metallic Neutrals package) as well as Cherry Pop. I couldn’t resist placing the sleigh in the foreground of a scene with a portion of the Eventful – Night Before Christmas silhouette in the border. I also added packages cut with the All Wrapped Up die set.

I’ve talked about how much I like the Taylored Expressions Little Bits dies in the past and there are several new sets in this release, including Little Bits – Ice Skates.

I placed the skates in one of the Peek-A-Boo Circles which I backed with paper from TE 6×6 Paper Pack – Playful Patterns – Holiday. I added a heat-embossed sentiment from Holiday Florals and a package cut with All Wrapped Up to the other two circles. There are snowflake strips cut with the Skinny Mini Holiday Borders die on the sides of the Peek-A-Boo Circles strip to add texture, as does the dry-embossed background created with Embossing Folder – Twinkling Holiday.

Merry Christmas – Taylored Expressions Oct 2016 Sneak Peeks

Welcome to Day 2 of the Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The October products will be released Thursday, October 6 @ 7 AM PST!

My first project features the Holiday Florals stamp set, which continues the tradition started with the Fresh Florals and Fall Florals sets.

This stamp set is packed with greenery for the holidays. I stamped and die cut the images and arranged them around a frame cut with a die in the Stitched Oval Stacklets set and Stitched Rectangle Stacklets set, which I dry-embossed with the Embossing Folder – Peaceful Poinsettia. I heat-embossed the sentiment in gold to coordinate with the cardstock used for the frame (a gold metallic in the Metallic Neutrals package).

My second card design, of which I created two versions, features the Merry Christmas Cutting Plate. I created two to show you just how easy it is to change this up.

My first version uses the white metallic cardstock in the Metallic Neutrals pack set against a card base created from Cherry Pop cardstock.

The interior features a sentiment from Ornamental. This system works well for our family. I can create the inserts and then get the signatures of all family members, simply adhering the insert to the card when we’ve all signed!

My other version of the card shows the Merry Christmas Cutting Plate overlay cut from Cherry Pop cardstock and put against a background created with a paper in the TE 6×6 Paper Pack – Playful Patterns – Holiday, to which I adhered TE Premium Vellum (with Elizabeth Crafts – 6×6 Adhesive Sheets) to soften its look. For this version, the card base is a gold metallic (Metallic Neutrals package).

Building a Snow Man – Taylored Expressions Oct 2016 Sneak Peeks

Today it’s all about snow! Yes, it’s only October, but it’s not too soon to start holiday-themed cards! Welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks. This release is packed with supplies guaranteed to put you in the holiday mood. I’m sharing two cards and a giveaway opportunity (you’ll have to scroll to the end to learn more about that!). Mark your calendar – October products will be released Thursday, October 6 @ 7 AM PST!

I first want to show you a winter-themed scene created with the Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? die.

Taylored Expressions October 2016 Release

I placed the Do You Wanna Build a Snowmansilhouette into an oval frame, cut with a die in the Stitched Oval Stacklets set from paper in the TE 6×6 Paper Pack – Playful Patterns – Holiday. The patterned paper background is from the same paper pack. For visual interest, I adhered TE Sequins – Snow Flurries to the background and added a top hat for the snowman, (cut with the Do You Wanna Build a Snowmansilhouette and trimmed). The heat-embossed sentiment is from the Ornamental set. This isn’t my usual color palette, but there is something about these colors that feels nostalgic to me, which I feel suits the silhouette scene.

My second project showcases the Snowman Shaker die set. This guy is such a ham!

I created the background with the Snow Day Background stamped with TE Premium White Pigment Ink. I cut the snowman from both cardstock (it is a metallic white included in the TE Premium Cardstock – Metallic Neutrals set) and foam, sandwiching a piece of Clear Plastic Sheets between the cardstock and foam into which I put the TE Sequins – Snow Flurries. To finish off the card, I added a heat-embossed sentiment from Ornamental.
