CASology Wood – Smore Fun

Today, I’m sharing a card that I’m linking to the CASology Challenge. The theme is wood and the cute card by Megan inspired mine. When I think wood, I think camping, and when I think camping, I think of S’mores!

I stamped the S’mores in a stack using a post-it note to mask the layers. I colored the images with a variety of Copics in the E5X series. I’m really enjoying Copic coloring with the Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock. It makes a big difference in the blending. The woodgrain card panel was created with an Amuse Studio texture plate.

You Drive Me Wild

Today, I’m sharing a “just for fun” card using the Lawn Fawn “Happy Trails” stamp set and matching die cut.

YouDriveMeWild

I haven’t Copic-colored for a long time and practiced my coloring on the cars. I used Gina K Design’s Pure Luxury cardstock, on the recommendation of some Stamp Nation members, and I definitely liked the results. I used color combinations from Sharon Harnist. Her Copic FAQ page is a fabulous resource!

Let’s Go Sailing

I’ve had the pieces for this card sitting on my worktable ever since starting the In Detail post on die-cut card making sets. As I mentioned in that post, I’ve been using the Blueprints 13 stitched rectangle die a lot!

AHOYdiecut

I dry embossed Bazzill cardstock with the Memory Box Wave stencil and cut it with the stitched rectangle. I played around with a variety of colors for the boat, the letters, the banner, the sails and the sailboat flag. It took longer than you would imagine to evaluate colors for the hull, letters, a sails, …. before settling on this combination!

I’m entering this card in the Card Concept “Use A Nautical Theme” challenge. My style is Clean and Graphic.

Speaking of die cuts, there’s still time to enter The Cutting Edge Guest Designer Challenge! Head on over for details.

Lawnscaping #84: Stars and Stripes

I’m delighted to be guest designing over at Lawnscaping Challenges today!

Lawnscaping Challenge Number 84 is all about incorporating Stars & Stripes on your project. The prize for this challenge is a free stamp set of the winner’s choice from Lawn Fawn.

With July 4th around the corner, I created a red, white and blue card featuring both stars and stripes.
YoureAStarJMI stamped the fireworks from the Happy 4th set in white pigment ink on the card base front. I die cut the stars from the Stitched Journaling Card set repeatedly to create the rows of stars. I then backed the journaling card with stripes in blue and red. The sentiment from Lucky Stars was heat embossed on a red stripe.

Be sure to head on over to Lawnscaping Challenge to see what the Design Team has done for this challenge! Hope you’ll play along!

Hello Sunshine

While I was crafting my card as a guest designer for Lawnscaping Challenge Number 83, I created another summer-themed card.

LFWatermelon

Lawnscaping Challenge Number 83 is all about using heat or dry embossing on your project.  I heat embossed the watermelons and the ant. The watermelons are colored with Copic markers. I kept the background simple with bright-colored, solid cardstock.

Have you played along yet? There’s a prize of a $25 gift certificate to Simon Says Stamp! Head on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge to enter! You have until  Wednesday, June 11th, 2014 to submit your entries!
