SCC2: Week One, Day Four

Wow this week has flown by! It’s already Day Four of the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 class. My card is based on one shared by Marion Vagg.

SCC2: Week One, Day Four

I guess I like using pastel colors more than I realized! To simplify this card, I used patterned papers from the Studio Calico Sundrifter paper pack. The die cuts are Lorelai Leaf from poppystamps and Moonlight Butterfly from Memory Box. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant Water Blooms.

SSC2: Week One, Day Three

Fabulous cards in the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 class today from the guest designers. I modeled my card on the one shared by Laura Bassen with a few changes.

SSC2: Week One, Day Three

Although I normally shy away from pastels, the Atlantic paper from Studio Calico has some great patterns that reinforced my nautical theme and still kept to this week’s color palette. Laura stitched her banners on the left side. I adhered mine to a rectangular panel on the left, which is shorter in width than the banners, allowing the banners on the right to “flutter.” Without the stitching, the left side needed a little “something,” so I added the twine.

Supplies: Memory Box anchor die; Simon Says woodgrain cardstock; MFT fishtail die; Studio Calico and October Afternoon patterned papers; twine; Simon Says “you” die cut and stamp; Versamark; Hero Arts embossing powder

SCC2: Day Two

Another fun day in the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 class.

Of course, short on time, I decided to choose a technically challenging card! Let’s just say that the perfectionist inside of me had a few fits. My card is based on one shared by Joy Taylor.

SCC2: Day Two

I switched up the supplies a bit, as I don’t own the ones that she used.

Supplies: Memory Box cardstock; MME enamel dots; Technique Tuesday Awesome stamp set; Spellbinders circle dies; Hero Arts Granite shadow ink

Summer Card Camp 2: Week One

There were three fabulous sketches and a color scheme provided in today’s lesson for the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 class.

Summer Card Camp 2: Week One

My card is based on the one shared by Jennifer McGuire. I chose a couple different supplies than the ones that Jennifer used, but otherwise my card is very similar. I put Creative Tape onto the back of white cardstock before I cut layers of the sentiment to give the sentiment some depth on the card. I added Creative Tape to the blue cardstock as well. I’ve found that using Creative Tape makes it easy to adhere those delicate die cuts to one another and to the card base.

Supplies: Mama Elephant Water Blooms; Hero Arts Out of Print background stamp; VersaMagic, Stampin’ Up and Memento Luxe inks; Paper Smooches die; Hero Arts gems; Memory Box cardstock

Summer Card Camp 2011

As the Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp 2 kicks off tomorrow, I’m sharing a card I made based on one by Jennifer McGuire from Summer Card Camp 2011. When I took that class two years ago, I owned only a few stamps, one ink pad, and I had no idea what I was getting into! When I saw Jennifer’s card at the time, I had absolutely no idea how to make it and certainly didn’t own the tools or stamps to make it.

Summer Card Camp 2011

I stamped watercolor paper with the Out of Print background stamp, die cut into hearts, and then watercolored them with Distress Inks.

One of my favorite aspects of the Summer Card Camp classes are the fabulous color combinations that I wouldn’t necessarily consider on my own. Jennifer’s card was colored with blues and greens. I chose a variation of another color scheme shared in the class for my card.

Can’t wait for the class to start! Have a great day!
