Penny Black Collage

Today I’m sharing I card crafted with a variety of Penny Black dies and stamps, which I’m calling a “collage.”

The butterflies were stamped with the Letter Background (1999L) and then die cut with Flutters (51-006). The two background tags were first stamped with Indian Wheel (40-202) and die cut with Tagged (51-007). The sentiment was heat embossed using a stamp from the Friendship (30-160) set. Finally, I created a mask cut with the Dots (51-009) die and sponged selected circles with white pigment ink.

I finished off the card with silk ribbon, dyed with Distress Ink to match the cardstock and twine.

Penny Black Birthday Cupcakes

Hope your week is off to a great start! Today, I’m sharing a birthday card created with Penny Black’s Cupcakes stamp set (30-171). I really like the versatility of this set – it’s got some great sentiments and can be used for both masculine and feminine birthday cards.

I colored the cupcakes and cake slice with Copic markers and then fussy cut them. I added Glossy Accents to the strawberry, the heart, and the flowers on the cake. I adhered the cut images to a cardstock panel with dimensional adhesive. With circle dies, I created a two sets of mats/frames for the cut images. I heat embossed the sentiment on the card base, and finished the card off with some baker’s twine. Voilà!

Penny Black: Just Relax

Although I can tell fall is in the air and Labor Day is just around the corner (the unofficial end of summer), I wanted to create another card with the Penny Black Summer Fun 30-107 stamp set.

Penny Black: Just Relax

I stamped the lawn chair with Versafine and heat embossed it with clear powder. Using Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and Ink Potion No. 9, I colored the chairs in bright colors. In my previous card with this set, I used circles of different sizes to create variety. In this case, I used repetition to strengthen the design.

Have a terrific week and enjoy these last few weeks of summer!

Penny Black Homemade

Cute mice in the kitchen!? What? The one time I did have mice in the kitchen, in a Victorian home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, there was nothing cute about it. But with the Penny Black Homemade (30-119) stamp set, which is part of the Margaret Sherry Collection, there’s nothing but fun!

I watercolored the mice, stamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder, with both Prismacolor and Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Sweet Girl collection.
