Simon Says Stamp Friendly Frolic Blog Hop

Hello! Today, I’m delighted to be sharing three projects as part of a Simon Says Stamp blog hop showcasing products from the FRIENDLY FROLIC release.

My first project showcases the Folk Dance die, with which I used the inlay technique (one of my favorites).

  • To create a frame for the pieces, I die-cut the Folk Dance panel several times from black cardstock and adhered the layers together. I backed the panel with white cardstock.
  • I used the Folk Dance die to cut the leaves and petals from colored cardstock and adhered the pieces into the frame.
  • I adhered the assembly to a card base.
  • I stamped the Big Thanks sentiment on a white cardstock strip with black ink.
  • I die-cut the Big Happy sentiment and applied it to the strip.
  • I adhered the strip to the card.

My second card features the Diamond Pattern die.

  • I inked a cardstock panel (masking as I went along) with Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Twisted Citron, and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks and cut it with the Diamond Pattern die.
  • I adhered the panel over a similarly colored piece so that the diamond pattern revealed a second layer of color.
  • I added a sentiment cut with the You Da Best die.

My final project combines an image from the Plantiful Puns stamp set with the Diamond Pattern stamp.

  • I stamped the Plantiful Puns image and colored it with Copic markers.
  • I stamped the card front panel with the Diamond Pattern stamp using Versamark ink.
  • I cut a circle in the panel and adhered the plant image from behind.
  • I heat-embossed the Plantiful Puns sentiment on a strip, which I adhered just under the plant image.
  • I adhered the panel to a dry-embossed card base.

Hibiscus Frame – CAS Friendship Card

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS friendship card showcasing the Hibiscus Frame from the Simon Says Stamp GOOD VIBES release.

Simon Says Stamp Hibiscus Frame

  • I cut the Hibiscus Frame from 110 lb. white cardstock and trimmed it to A2 panel size (the die cuts the inside but not the outside frame).
  • I created the background with alcohol inks – Flamingo and Sunshine Yellow – on Yupo paper.
  • I used a spray adhesive to attach the frame to the alcohol-ink panel. I also adhered die-cut pieces around the edges into the frame.
  • To finish, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Kind Flowers set on black cardstock.

Good Vibes – Foiled Stencil Cards

Hello! Today I am sharing two CAS cards created with the Simon Says Stamp Jazz Dance stencil and the Summertime die.

Good Vibes - Foiled Stencil Cards

To begin, I applied Deco Foil Gel through the Jazz Dance stencil on white cardstock. Once dried, I ran the panel through the Minc with a Rainbow Foil sheet. For the second card base, I ran a piece of Toner Sheet and the leftover foil sheet (with the negative image from the stencil) through the Minc.

Good Vibes - Foiled Stencil Cards

To create the Summertime sentiment panels, I first cut the Summertime die from white cardstock. I also used the die to cut the frame and letters from a Toner Sheet. I foiled the letters with Lime Foil and the frame with Rainbow Foil. I then inlaid the lime foil letters into the white frame and the white letters into the rainbow frame.
