Spellbinders October Small Die of the Month Kit

Hello! Wow, it is already October. It is hard to believe how fast this year is going by! Today, I am delighted to be sharing three fall- and Thanksgiving-themed CAS projects created with the October Small Die Of The Month kit from Spellbinders. These cards took very little time to put together!

I grabbed a variety of warm-toned solid cardstocks (rusts, browns, tans), gold foil cardstock, and fall-themed patterned papers and started die-cutting. I backed the die-cut acorn top with solid cardstock in the card above and with gold foil below.

For all three cards, the die-cuts included in the small die kit do the “talking”- I didn’t stamp a thing!

Spellbinders – Let’s Bake

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS holiday card showcasing the Let’s Bake die set from the Spellbinders A Sweet Christmas Collection by Sharyn Sowell. This card would be a great addition to a gift of Christmas cookies or candy (my mother gifted hand-turned fudge packaged in a red round tin). Similarly the die-cuts could be used to created gift tags for Christmas food gifts!

I cut the pieces from a variety of cardstock colors and backed the pieces with openings (the oven mitt, the measuring spoon, and the glass measuring cup) with cardstock in the same color.

I added a heat-embossed sentiment on the kitchen wall background which I created with the Spellbinders Circles and Diamonds embossing folder.

Spellbinders – Santa Parade

Hello! Today, I am sharing three takes with the same die set from the Spellbinders A Sweet Christmas Collection by Sharyn Sowell. All three of the CAS holiday cards showcase the Santa Parade set which is part of this fabulous collection. The parade die measures a generous 7″ x 3″. With little effort, this set packs a big punch! I cut the parade out of black cardstock, glitter cardstock, and white cardstock, which I colored with Distress Inks. On all three cards, the bases are 7 ¼” x 4″; the rectangle backgrounds are 7″ x 3 ¾”.

For the card featuring the black cardstock parade silhouette, I used a sentiment from the same die set. I cut the sentiment twice from brushed gold cardstock for extra depth; I used the same gold cardstock for the base.

I heat-embossed a Hero Arts sentiment for the card on which I cut the parade from glitter cardstock. The gray cardstock base lends a cozy feel with the patterned paper.

On my final card, I used Distress Inks in Festive Berries, Barn Door, and Fired Brick to color white cardstock before cutting the cardstock with the parade die. I heat-embossed the Hero Arts sentiment on to the solid teal cardstock rectangle. To finish, I sprinkled on Taylored Expressions sequins.

Spellbinders – Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection by Sharyn Sowell

Hello! I recently created three cards for the Spellbinders blog using products from the Cuppa Coffee, Cuppa Tea Collection by Sharyn Sowell. What an amazing collection combining some of my favorite things – coffee, tea, and die-cuts!

Spellbinders – A Charming Christmas

Hello and fa la la! Today, I am sharing my first Christmas cards of the season featuring die sets from Spellbinders A Charming Christmas Collection by Becca Feekan.

My first card showcases the Cinch and Go Poinsettia die set.

I cut the flowers from Stampin’ Up cardstock in Real Red and the leaves from Garden Green. The center circle piece was cut from Taylored Expressions Gold Foil. I secured the die-cut pieces with a gold brad.

I stamped a Stampin’ Up sentiment on Echo Park patterned paper which I cut with one of the dies in the Vintage Stitched Squares set. I added sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and Kelly Purkey.

My next card features the Charming Christmas Boughs die set.

I cut the swirling wreath from Neenah white cardstock. I also gold heat-embossed the sentiment from the Technique Tuesday Twinkle On set (retired) on to white cardstock; I cut that cardstock with the swirling wreath die and placed it into the wreath.

I cut the ornaments from American Crafts glitter paper in red and silver and Taylored Expressions Gold Foil. I added bows made from May Arts gold metallic twine. The background paper is Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh in the Snow (retired) patterned paper.
