Spellbinders is giving away a $25 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments on the Spellbinders blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday, October 3rd, 11:59 pm MST. Please note: store credit (gift certificate) cannot be applied to Club Subscriptions; store credit can be applied to shop past Club products, Club extras, and regular releases.

For the hop, I created two cards and two tags with the All Aboard Card Kit. I had kept the kit pieces together in the original box, and it was easy to find coordinating die-cut and chipboard elements, solid cardstock, patterned paper, and embellishments. These projects took almost no time to assemble.

I dry-embossed the card bases using the Evergreen folder (dark green) and the Stargazer folder (burgundy).

To help cluster the die-cut pieces, I cut 3-inch circles with the detail and outline dies and backed with gold foil. Both the textured white cardstock and gold foil are included in the kit. I embellished the tree with Gold Mix Gems. To add dimension to the cards, I mixed chipboard elements from the kit with the die-cut pieces.

I die-cut the tags with the Heart to Heart Tag set from patterned paper in the kit, which I backed with white cardstock.

I added one of the tags to a coffee/chocolate-themed gift.

Just as I did on the cards, I mixed die-cut elements with chipboard pieces. I used enamel dots from the kit to embellish the tree.

Spellbinders – Festive Christmas Cars

Today, I am sharing a slimline Christmas card featuring products from Spellbinders. If it looks familiar, it is because I designed a similar one a couple of months ago, which you can see here.

Spellbinders – Halloween Village Scene

Hello and happy almost equinox! Around here, in the Pacific Northwest, we have chillier temps early morning, spider webs on the plants, and leaves changing colors. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, about which I have talked before. I put together several Spellbinders die sets to create a Halloween village scene.

Spellbinders - Halloween Village Scene

  • I created the card base with Shaded Lilac, Broken China, and Hickory Smoke inks using vellum to mask.
  • I cut a 2 inch circle from orange cardstock and added Spiced Marmalade to it. I trimmed the circle and added it to the card base.
  • I used dies in the Silent Night Make a Scene set to cut the village houses Onyx cardstock. I added cardstock behind the windows. Some were added to the base with foam adhesive.
  • I die-cut the ghosts with dies in the Open House Boo! set, backing their eyes with Onyx cardstock. I used the same set to create the sentiment. The ghosts were added with foam adhesive.

  • Create background by dry-embossing light-blue cardstock with the Simply Perfect Florets folder. To put the focus on the bird and flowers, die-cut a 3-inch circle in tan cardstock with a die in the Essential Circles set. Attach to background.
  • Die-cut Large Die of the Month bird, flowers, stems, and sentiment from cardstock, assemble, and adhere to card.
  • Add Silver Mix Gems for embellishment.
