Using Repetition – Nautical CAS Card

After creating this nautical-themed card, I had many lighthouses left over, as I had experimented with different construction techniques, as well as color combinations, when creating the lighthouses. So I put together a CAS card with the leftovers practicing the design principle of repetition!

Reverse Confetti August Creative Blog Hop

Welcome! This month’s creative hop focusing on Summer Fun started on the Reverse Confetti blog. You should have made it here from Lisa’s blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you!

I’m sharing two summer vacation-themed scrapbook layouts for which I created embellishments using Reverse Confetti stamps and dies. My first layout (letter-sized) chronicles a family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.

I stamped the journaling with one of the word/phrases from Here’s the Story. I heat-embossed another Here’s the Story phrase on black cardstock and cut it with the banner die in the Tag Me Confetti Cuts set. Its anchored with a die cut from the Documented Confetti Cuts set.

To the right-hand corner, I added a banner cut with the Double Banner Garland Confetti Cuts. The sentiment from Posted Note Sentiments was heat-embossed on red cardstock and cut with the circle die in the Donut You Know Confetti Cuts set. To finish, I added stars cut with the You Are A Star Confetti Cuts set and a red border cut with the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cuts.

The focus of my second layout (letter-sized) is a family vacation on Maui. The Pineapples Aplenty stamp set, with its coordinating Confetti Cuts set, worked perfectly for a visual accent with the journaling.

Penny Black Simplicity – Silhouette Floral

Today, I’m sharing a CAS summer-themed card showcasing the Penny Black #40-374 Effulgence stamp set.

SweetDayFloral

I created the background by smooshing a combination of Distress Inks onto the mixed media paper/cardstock. Once the background was dry, I stamped the Penny Black #40-374 Effulgence image in black ink and added a sentiment from the Penny Black #30-280 A Sweet Day set. I cut the panel with a scalloped die and adhered it to a colored cardstock background.

It’s Your Day – Beach Scene

Today, I’m sharing another summer-themed, beach scene crafted with die cuts.

I used my favorite red/white/blue scheme again! Hope you’re having a terrific day.

Reverse Confetti – Watermelon Popsicles

I couldn’t resist creating watermelon Popsicles with the Reverse Confetti Let’s Chill Confetti Cuts and the Doin’ the Wave Confetti Cuts.

To create the Popsicles, I used the Doin’ the Wave Confetti Cuts to cut two patterned papers and white cardstock. I adhered the pieces onto a lightweight piece of cardstock, fitting them together in their grooves, and used the Let’s Chill Confetti Cuts to cut out the Popsicle. For the Popsicle sticks, I first cut them with the Let’s Chill Confetti Cuts and then ran them through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Confetti Cuts to add texture.

I heat embossed one of the sentiments from Donut You Know. Additional embellishments were created with the Confetti Cuts sets: Layered Banner Duo (banner), Shakers ‘n Frames (hearts), Wonky Scallop Border, and Tagged Tote (bow).
