TE Ghost Town Border – Christmas Edition

Hello! Today, I am showing how to use the Taylored Expressions Ghost Town Border on a Christmas card!

The spookiest building in the border is on the right-hand side – you can see it on this Halloween card. To eliminate that building from my card, I created a vertical card and simply cut it out of the picture!

Taylored Expressions Ghost Town Border Christmas Card

I cut the Ghost Town Border out of Sugar Cube cardstock and backed the windows with Cherry Pop and Lemon Meringue cardstock. I heat-embossed the sentiment from the Ornamental set on Blue Corn cardstock. I used the Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? die to create the scene in the foreground of the girls making a snowman. I also added a hill cut with a die in the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set and snowflakes cut with the Little Bits – Snowflake Confetti set to reinforce the winter/Christmas theme.

Taylored Expressions – Rejoice!

Hello! Welcome to the Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store!

Before you head off to shop, I have two more CAS Christmas cards to show you. My first card showcases the Little Bits – Angel die which I cut from Gold Foil.

Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release

I added the die-cut angel to a background on which I applied Distress Ink with a Clarity Stencil Brush and heat-embossed a sentiment in the Rejoice stamp set. I stamped the poinsettia and blooms, from the Holiday Florals set, cut them with their corresponding dies, and added them to the corner. The card base was dry-embossed with the Peaceful Poinsettia folder.

Taylored Expressions – Countdown to Christmas

Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release Sneak Peeks.  The October products that have been sneaked this week will be released tomorrow – Thursday, October 5 @ 7 AM PST!

Today, I am featuring a Countdown to Christmas project, with twelve boxes to be opened on the twelve days leading up to Christmas, featuring the Matchbox die set with new holiday additions to the Matchbox line including Matchy Snowman and Matchy Penguin.

Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release

I adhered magnetic tape to the back of the Matchbox cases and positioned them on a cookie sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree.

I used the Clearly Planned – Candy Cane Numbers and coordinating dies to create the countdown numbers for the boxes (some on the exterior and others on the interior). I used stamps in the Matchy Backgrounds – Holiday set to decorate box tops and drawer insides. I added snowflakes cut with the Make a Snowflake set for visual interest around the tree.

The contents of the Countdown to Christmas boxes include candy and Christmas activities!

Taylored Expressions – Celebrating Christmas

Welcome to Day 2 of the Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release Sneak Peeks. The October products being sneaked will be released Thursday, October 5 @ 7 AM PST!

Today, I am sharing two Christmas cards. My first card depicts a Christmas Eve scene featuring the latest addition to the Simply Stamped series – Simply Stamped Christmas Tree.

Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release

To create the tree, I stamped the most solid tree image with Peapod ink. I then stamped the next layer with VersaMark ink. As the ink dried, the area became lighter. Finally, I stamped the third layer with the Sugar Cube pigment ink to replicate flocking. I decorated the tree with the corresponding die set. I dry-embossed the background with the Cable Knit folder. I used a portion of the Jolly Old St. Nick border for the background, tucked behind the patterned paper. The stamped tree is decorated with ornaments and tinsel, and a star on top, cut with dies in the Simply Stamped – Christmas Tree set.

My second card showcases the dramatic Nativity Cutting Plate.

Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release

For the background, I used the smooshing technique to apply Distress Oxide Inks to watercolor paper. While the panel dried, I cut the Nativity Cutting Plate from Oreo cardstock. I heat-embossed the Rejoice sentiment with gold embossing powder and cut it as a double-ended banner. I created the card base from gold matte metallic cardstock included in the Metallic Neutrals pack. The star is cut from Gold Foil with the Little Bits – North Star die.

Hello! Welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release Sneak Peeks. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The October products being sneaked will be released this Thursday, October 5 @ 7 AM PST!

My first project features the Quick Critters – Winter Stamp & Die set.

Taylored Expressions October 2017 Release

I stamped the snowman and his scarf three times. I colored the scarves with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents for dimension. I dry-embossed the background with the Snowfall folder and added trees to the scene, which I cut with dies in the Build a Scene – Central Park and the Build a Scene – Winter Trees sets. The hats are included in the Little Bits – Snowman set.

I heat-embossed the Spirit of Christmas images and cut the trees with corresponding dies in the Christmas Tree Stacklets set (these could be cut from patterned paper for an entirely different look!). The background was dry-embossed with the Winter Flurry folder. I added a bird cut with the Little Bits – Birds set to tie-in the Lollipop cardstock used for the sentiment banner.
