Have a Cuppa

Looking for my Ellen Hutson Mix-It-Up Challenge post? It’s here.

Welcome to the Taylored Expressions April 2016 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store, HERE!

Before you head off to shop, I have one more project to show you! My CAS card showcases the Stacked Teacups die.

Taylored Expressions April 2016 Release

I cut the tea cup stack twice and adhered the die cuts together with liquid adhesive, backing them with their separate die cuts. I added a sentiment from Plot Twist (this set has so many fabulous sentiments!). I used the Mini Tags set to cut a tea bag tag (I cut the tag and then shifted the die to cut the tag down a bit). I used the Cross Stitch embossing folder to deboss a strip to finish off the card.

Ellen Hutson – Taylored Expressions Mix it Up Challenge!

Ellen Hutson Mix It Up Challenge

I’m delighted to be a guest for the Ellen Hutson Mix-it-Up Challenge sharing a project that combines fabulous products from Taylored Expressions and Essentials by Ellen.

TE and EH Mix It Up

My inspiration comes from a sunny, summer day in the Pacific Northwest. The Olympic Mountains stand proudly behind Puget Sound. The summers here are exquisite!

Celebrating Milestones

Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions April 2016 Sneak Peeks! The April products will be released tomorrow – Thursday, April 7 @ 7 AM PST!

This month’s products include stamps and dies geared towards milestones such as graduations – whether from preschool or college. My first card would work for a number of occasions, as it celebrates the beginning of an adventure.

I paired Sky High – Kites die cuts with the Sky High Sentiments and added a small kite cut with the Little Bits – Kite set. The Sky High – Kites die cuts the overlays and the backgrounds, along with the tails. I colored cardstock with Distress Inks for the kite backgrounds, but they could be cut from colored cardstock just as easily.

My second project was created with my youngest son in mind, as he graduates from college in June. That’s him in the grad lineup highlighted with gold cardstock! He’s saying “hooray!” as are we!

I cut the silhouette of graduates from Chalkstock cardstock with the Eventful – Graduation Border. I also cut the lineup with the Eventful – Graduation Border from gold cardstock and then cut off the single grad, adhering him to the border with liquid adhesive. I gold-embossed the Eventful – Graduation sentiment and cut it with the Little Bits – Let’s Talk Bubble 2 die. This would be an easy design to customize to school colors.

Say It With a Bouquet

Welcome to Day 2 of the Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks! The April products will be released Thursday, April 7 @ 7 AM PST!

This month’s release has several floral offerings – in both stamps and dies – which work for a variety of occasions. My first project features the previously-released Stargazer Lily Bouquet stamp set, which now has a corresponding Stargazer Lily Bouquet Die, paired with a sentiment from the new release Simply Stamped – Peonies stamp set.

I stamped the lily on watercolor cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then cut it with its corresponding die. I heat-embossed the sentiment onto vellum and adhered the vellum to the cardstock with double-sided sticker paper. I popped the floral bouquet up with foam adhesive and finished the card off with a frame cut with the Frame in Frame Cutting Plate set.

My next project features the Full Bloom die. Because this die does not cut on the edge, it can be positioned in a number of ways on a card front.

I used the full bloom die to cut the blossom three times from an A2-sized panel. I cut the petals (the set includes three petal sizes) from cardstock which I’d colored with Distress Inks. I adhered the petals to the blooms with liquid adhesive. I added a sentiment cut with the Mini Caps Alpha & #’s set.

I attached the panel to a card base and fluffed up the petals a bit.

I created a second card with the same design using colored cardstock rather than Distress Ink-colored cardstock.

Lattes and Books: A Perfect Combination

Welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks! This month’s release products (which include 8 new stamp sets, 21 new dies, and more) are ideal for a variety of occasions including graduation (whether from preschool or college), Mother’s Day, and birthdays! The April products will be released Thursday, April 7 @ 7 AM PST!

My first project features a punny sentiment paired with a die-cut for the coffee-drinker on your card recipient list, perhaps one to whom you’ve forgotten to send a congratulations, a thanks or a birthday greeting.

Taylored Expressions April 2016 Release

I cut the Stacked Coffee Mugs twice from Sugar Cube cardstock and adhered them together. I adhered separate die-cut pieces, cut from colored cardstock, to the back. I heat-embossed the sentiment from the Some Like It Hot set and finished the card off with a dry-embossed (technically debossed) background, using the Cross Stitch embossing folder.

My next project is a bookmark featuring a sentiment from Plot Twist.

Taylored Expressions April 2016 Release

Such a great sentiment! I stamped the sentiment onto Sugar Cube cardstock and cut it with the Build a Bookmark die. The new bookmark die is designed to work with the Mark Your Spot Bookmark die. I added elements cut with the Build a Bookmark die set (cut from cardstock onto which I’d applied Distress Inks). I added a couple of Rainbow Brights Flowers sequins as a finishing touch.

The florals included in the Build a Bookmark pair nicely with other floral Taylored Expressions die sets.
