For my first project, I created a CAS encouragement card showcasing the Choose Hope Stamp & Die Combo.

Jean Manis Taylored Expressions Jan 2016 Release

I created the background with the Hope sentiment stamp from the Choose Hope set and cut the background with a die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets set. I cut the ribbon and heart with dies in the set.

My second project combines one of the frame dies in the Picture Perfect – Smile/Hello set with images from the Under the Flower Stamp & Die Combo set. This combination could be used for any number of occasions – birthday, encouragement, Mother’s Day, ….

I stamped, colored and cut the girl and flower, adding them to the scene along with a hill cut with a die from the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set.

The background was dry-embossed with the Flower Power folder (perfect for any number of occasions!).

Welcome to Day 1 of the Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peeks! The release is packed with Stamp & Die Combos, along with new dies and embossing folders! The January products will be released Thursday, January 7 @ 7 AM PST!

I stamped and colored the lion and cut him (her?) with the corresponding die. (The corresponding dies for the images makes these sets so easy to create with!) The sentiment was heat-embossed on a circle cut with one of the dies in the Stitched Circle Stacklets set.

I added banners cut with the Skinny Mini Party Borders set and flowers cut with the Mini Bloomers set. The card base was dry-embossed with the Splatter embossing folder.

My next project combines the Let’s Talk Edger 1 die along with the adorable hens from the Happy Hens set.

I stamped and colored the hens and cut them with their corresponding dies. I heat-embossed the sentiment and cut it with the Let’s Talk Edger 1 die. I created a frame for the scene with the Pockets & Pages – 3×4 Photo Frame die.

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #16

I’m playing along with Share Joy Challenge #16 at Taylored Expressions.

I used the sketch and created a CAS Valentine’s card:

JeanManisTESJC16

I stamped the cat image from the Stitch by Stitch set by coloring the stamp with Memento markers. I cut the image with one of the circle dies in the Stitched Circle Stacklets set. I heat embossed a sentiment from Love Makes the World Go Round and cut it with one of the Stitched Banner Stacklets dies.

I dry-embossed a rectangle cut with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets set with the Swiss Hearts embossing folder and adhered that to the card base. I used a couple of the Stitched Square Stacklets dies to create the Earl Grey triangle I placed behind the cat (I don’t know that I’ve ever used a triangle die cut on a card before!). This card came together quickly with the various Stacklets die sets!

Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #15

I’m playing along with the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #15.

Here’s my take on the challenge in which I used both the sketch and the center column of the Tic Tac Toe – no patterned paper, gold and vellum:

I heat-embossed the sentiment from Simply Stamped – Roses onto vellum and adhered the vellum to Salt Water Taffy cardstock. I created a frame from Sugar Cube cardstock with one of the dies in the Stitched Square Stacklets set and adhered the frame to the vellum panel. I added a floral silhouette cut with the Silhouette Stems 1 die out of Lollipop cardstock.

Taylored Expressions Inlaid Diecutting Technique Scene

Today, I’m sharing a card created with the Inlaid Diecutting Technique using Taylored Expressions products. I crafted an inlaid mountain scene.

Jean Manis Taylored Expressions Inlaid Die Cutting

The background items in the scene (those that are farthest away) are the first to be cut. To begin, I cut Salt Water Taffy cardstock with one of the dies in the Build a Scene – Mountain Tops set. I used the circle die in Build a Scene – Sunshine to cut out a sun from the sky panel. I used the same die to cut the sun out of Lemon Meringue cardstock. I placed the yellow sun into the sky panel, adhering it with Scotch tape on the back to secure it. I then cut the panel with the larger cloud die in the Cloud Duo set. I cut a cloud from Sugar Cube cardstock and put it into the sky panel. Next, I used the same Build a Scene – Mountain Tops mountain die to cut Lavender Glaze cardstock and adhered it to the sky panel.

Working my way down, I used the other die in the Build a Scene – Mountain Tops set to cut the sky/mountain panel. I also cut mountains from Jelly Donut cardstock with the same die, and taped them into the scene. The trickiest part of the scene is next. I used one of the dies in the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills set to cut the Jelly Donut cardstock mountains at their base. I also cut a strip of Cookie Monster cardstock with the same die. I cut off the bottom of the Jelly Donut cardstock mountains and the Cookie Monster cardstock to create a lake. The line of the lake becomes the horizon line, and needs to be parallel to the card base. (An easier approach would be to eliminate the lake altogether, which I considered while I was making the card! You could also use one of the dies in the Build a Scene – Rolling Waves set.)

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Critter Correspondence on Peapod cardstcock and cut it with the Build a Scene – Rolling Hills die, and then taped the mountains, lake and hill together from the back.

Jean Manis Taylored Expressions Inlaid Die Cutting

I used trees from the Build a Scene – Central Park and Build a Scene – Winter Trees sets to cut evergreens in the foreground.

Once all of the pieces were in place and attached together on the back, I trimmed the panel and adhered it to a cardstock base.

The Inlaid Diecutting Technique can create stunning results! It’s important to think about what pieces will be in the back and which will be in the front when planning your creation.
