Elizabeth Craft Snowman Valentine

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS, winter-themed, Valentine created with Elizabeth Craft Designs die sets.

  • I cut the Peek-A-Boo frame and inlaid the letters.
  • I cut and assembled the Jack Frost snowman, accessorizing him with a hat cut with dies in the Winter Accessories set.
  • I tucked the snowman into the frame and backed it with light blue cardstock.
  • I added the assembly to a patterned paper card base.
  • I embellished the scene with snowflakes cut with the Penguin die set.

I have previously used the Jack Frost snowman here and the Peek-A-Boo frame on a card here.

  • I created the frame and card base from patterned paper cut with dies in the Nested Clipped Squares set. I also cut a frame from vellum to soften the edge between the patterned paper frame and the geometric patterned paper.
  • With the Dancin’ Hearts set, I cut the heart guy, his bow tie, the flower, and the sentiment.
  • I added the assembled heart guy and sentiment to the card base.
  • To embellish, I cut hearts with the Sunday Sunset Drive set and the Classic Heart set.

  • I cut the truck with the 51-641 …is coming! die set and assembled it.
  • I cut the heart balloons with the 51-004 Uplifting die set and glued dental floss to the back. I placed the strings through the truck window.
  • With the 51-033 Silver Linings die, I created a vellum stencil through which I applied Tumbled Glass ink on to a white card panel.
  • I stamped the 30-792 Love Quotes sentiment in black ink on the panel.
  • I finished the card with a frame cut with the largest die in the A2 Rectangle Frames set.

Penny Black CAS Valentine

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Valentine’s Day card created with Penny Black supplies from their latest release – “Love and Happiness.”

  • I cut the wagon with the 51-646 Wagon Ride set from white, dark grey, silver foil, and woodgrain cardstock. (I’m already envisioning the wagon carrying greenery for a winter card and pumpkins for a fall one.)
  • I assembled the wagon pieces with glue. The silver foil handle/pull was trimmed and glued to the dark grey piece.
  • I stamped the 30-792 Love Quotes sentiment in black ink on a white cardstock panel.
  • I applied Distress ink to the panel, using a vellum sheet as a mask, for the ground and the sky.
  • I cut the hearts with dies in the 51-090 Little Ornaments and the 51-281 What’s in Your Cup? sets.
  • I added the hearts to the panel, placing the largest hearts inside the wagon.
  • I added the assembly to a patterned paper card base.

Spellbinders January 2021 Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop sharing projects created with the Spellbinders January 2021 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Jennifer Snyder. (The entire list of participants is included at the end of my post.) For the hop, I created two CAS Valentine’s Day cards using this month’s Large Die of the Month kit “Slimline Kaleidoscope Hearts.” I shared two other cards created with the kit in this post.

My first card is a slimline Valentine’s Day card with an ombré inlaid background.

  • I cut the Large Die of the Month frame from Whip Cream cardstock and backed it with Pool Play cardstock.
  • I used the frame die to cut the smaller hearts from pink and three shades of red and inlaid them into the frame.
  • I cut two kaleidoscope hearts from white cardstock and two shades of red, backing the assembly with a solid heart cut from dark red.
  • I glimmer-foiled the Heart Melt sentiment in silver on red cardstock and cut it with the Forever Love Hearts set.
  • I adhered the sentiment heart and kaleidoscope hearts to the frame.

To showcase the versatility of the die set, I created a 4 1/4″ square card in which the background is created in the same manner as above.

  • I die-cut the frame from white, linen-textured cardstock by cutting a 3 1/4″ square from the center of a 4 1/4″ square.
  • I created the background in the manner as described for my first card.
  • I cut the ring and sentiment from white, gold, and glitter cardstock using the Special Celebrations die set. (This post shares other ways to use the Special Celebrations set.)
