Lawn Fawn – Winter Bunny

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS winter-themed card showcasing the Lawn Fawn Winter Bunny stamp. This is a stamp I have had for several years and never stamped or colored.

Lawn Fawn - Winter Bunny

I stamped the image and colored him (her?) with Copic markers and colored pencils. I created a scene with a snow hill cut with one of the dies in this set. I used an older Lawn Fawn paper for the snow-filled sky and a sentiment in the Critters in the Arctic set.

To give the small image more presence on the card, I cut a frame from Knit Picky patterned paper with a die in the Outside In Stitched Scalloped Square set. I recently noticed that I am using a lot of red frames on these winter-themed cards! I used the Stitched Woodgrain die for the card base to add subtle texture.

I am entering the current Lawn Fanatics challenge. I was inspired by the red, the hearts (there are small hearts in the Knit Picky paper), and the winter scene.

Newton’s Nook – Snow Day

Hello! As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been trying to embrace winter and create winter-themed cards as long as I can. (I have yet to put away my Christmas stamps and dies!) Today’s card features images and a sentiment from Newton’s Nook Designs Snow Day stamp set (now retired). I posted a card created with another image from this same set in November.

I stamped the rabbit and penguin images and colored them with Copic markers and colored pencils. I applied embossing paste to the background through the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil after stamping the sentiment. I wanted to keep layers to a minimum, so I used the MFT Drifts & Hills stencil to create a snow bank by applying several Distress Inks. The embossing paste resisted the ink. For the card base, I used a paper from the Lawn Fawn Knit Picky pad. The patterns in this pad are winter-themed rather than specifically Christmas.

Taylored Expressions – Die-cut Forest Critters

Hello! Today I am sharing a friendship card featuring die-cut forest critters from  Taylored Expressions  – the Little Bits – Raccoon and the Little Bits – Fox.

Taylored Expressions - Die-cut Forest Critters

I paired the two critters against snow-covered Grassy Hills. I usually use the Rolling Hills die for snow, but I used these dies to add a little texture to the scene. I stamped the Gunny Sack Background with Salt Water Taffy ink on Cookie Monster cardstock for the card base. The frame was cut from Watermelon cardstock with the combination of the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die and one of the Inside Scallop Rectangle Stacklets dies.

I heat-embossed the Friendly Phrases sentiment and cut it with one of the Double-ended Flag Stacklets.

MFT Stamps – Beast Friends

Hello! Today, I am sharing a winter-themed, friendship card showcasing the MFT Stamps Beast Friends set.

I stamped the Yeti figures and colored them with Copics. I went for a crazy fur color. (Since I have never seen a Yeti, or a Sasquatch, I am not certain about the color of their fur!)

For the sentiment, I cut a black strip of cardstock with the Poppystamps Let It Snow Frame die. To create the slit in the Snow Drift, I cut apart a seldom-used square die and used a portion to cut the straight line. (I could have cut the slit with an X-ACTO knife, but I wanted to try the idea of cutting with a portion of a die.) I tucked the sentiment into the slit and taped it from behind.

I had everything assembled when I realized I had left off the snow! I cut two sizes of the Mini Snowflakes and added them to the background.

Simon Says Stamp – Die-cut Valentine

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS die-cut Valentine featuring the Simon Says Stamp Coffee Love die. With snow and cold temperatures blanketing a lot of the country, a warm cup of coffee (or cocoa) seemed appropriate!

I cut a variety of cardstock colors with Coffee Love die and pieced them together. I added a sentiment cut with the On Edge Love You die, which I tucked behind a snowbank cut with one of the Drifting Stitches Borders dies. I cut hearts with the Heart Sprinkle Trail from the light-blue background allowing the card base to show through.
