Spellbinders Flourished Fretwork by Becca Feeken

Hello! Today I am sharing two elegant CAS cards created with die sets from the Flourished Fretwork collection by Becca Feeken at Spellbinders.

I created my first card with the Oval Coronet set. The set includes five dies: a small oval (which I didn’t use), an ornate oval overlay, a solid oval of the same size, an ornate base oval, and a base oval of the same size.

I cut the ornate elements from Whip Cream cardstock. I cut the background of the small oval from Robin’s Egg cardstock and the base background from Calypso Coral cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in gold ink in the center of the top oval. I dry-embossed the Petal Pink background with the Inspire embossing folder. I added flowers created with a die in the Floral Tiara Topper set, to which I adhered centers punched with a hole punch from Brush Gold cardstock.

On my second card I used the Richelieu Square set.

The Richelieu Square die set includes six dies: an ornate circle, a circle die of the same size without detail, an ornate square, a square die of the same size without detail, and a 4.4″ square border die, and a square die of the same size. I cut the ornate pieces from Whip Cream cardstock. The background of the circle and large square were cut from Calypso Coral and the smaller rectangle from Robin’s Egg cardstock. I left off a front sentiment to allow the ornate elements speak for themselves.

Paper Smooches – You Make Me Smile

The Spellbinders Blog Hop post is here.

Hello! I created a CAS card for the current Paper Smooches challenge whose theme is HAPPY.

Paper Smooches - You Make Me Smile

I used the Polaroid die set and a sentiment from the We Totally Click stamp set. I have had these products for a long time. I use the Polaroid frame frequently, however, I’m not sure I’ve ever used the Polaroid camera.

I originally created a card with just the camera and found it didn’t click (pun intended). I found a photo of my youngest son and my husband that I printed on my computer to fit within the frame. I used a patterned paper from the Authentique Hooray pad as the background.

Spellbinders April Clubs Blog Hop

Hello! Today, I am delighted to be participating in a blog hop along with other crafters sharing projects created with the various Spellbinders April 2020 Club Subscriptions. You should have reached me from the blog of Ilina Crouse. For the hop, I created three cards with the April Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Special Celebrations.”

Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers, selected from the comments on the Spellbinders blog. Hop along for additional chances to win. Giveaway closes Sunday, April 26, 11:59 pm EDT. The winner will be announced in the Spellbinders blog hop post the following Tuesday. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties, and taxes. Please note, the gift certificate cannot be applied to Club Subscriptions; it can be applied to shop past Club products, Club extras, and regular releases.

Additionally, I will be drawing a winner to receive a $25 gift certificate from the comments on my blog. Deadline is Friday, April 24 at 11:59pm EDT. The winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties, and taxes.

I used the April Small Die of the Month kit to create cards to celebrate an anniversary, Christmas, and an engagement.

The April Small Die of the Month set is designed to work with the Trucking Through the Seasons set; the dies can also be used on their own. You can see additional cards I created with the kit here.

Special Celebrations – April 2020 Spellbinders Small Die of the MonthFor the anniversary card, I created the sentiment using the “Forever” license plate. I added heart balloons and a heart cut from patterned paper for the background.

The balloons were tethered with strings from the Sunday Drive Hitched set.

On the Christmas card, I used the “Happy” ornament overlay and “Holidays” license plate included in the Small Die of the Month set.

I cut two additional ornaments, leaving them plain, and “tied” the three ornaments together with twine.

For the engagement congratulations, I cut a license plate using the Truckin Through the Seasons set and cut the ring and heart balloons using the April Small Die of the Month set. I tied gold twine to the balloons, pulled the twine through the ring, and adhered the ends under the license plate.

To add texture and visual interest, I dry-embossed the background with the Inspire embossing folder.

Penny Black – Hope Blooms

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS encouragement or friendship card created with Penny Black supplies. Despite the pandemic (our state is under stay-at-home orders until early May), the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the sun is out.

Penny Black - Hope Blooms

    • I stamped a sentiment from the #30-703 Blooming Sentiments set in black ink on blue cardstock and cut the panel with a 3 1/2″ square die.
    • I cut the tree and flowers with the #51-596 Bird and Branch set. I adhered the tree to the square and trimmed as necessary. I added the flowers with glue.
    • I die-cut the birds using the #51-094 Tweets and #51-050 Tweet Things sets and added them to the panel with foam adhesive.
    • The 4 1/4″ square card base is Bazzill Orange Peel cardstock.

We’re in this together! Stay safe!
