Penny Black – Happy Hedgehog

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS, Copic-colored hedgehog card created with Penny Black supplies.

I stamped the hedgehog from the 30-711 Critter Delights set and colored the image with Copic markers.
I cut the scene with a circle die.
I heat-embossed the sentiment from 30-710 Trust Me Builder and cut it with a 1/4″ die.
I added the circle and sentiment strip to a patterned paper background, trimmed the left-hand side of the assembly, and added the rectangle to a textured white cardstock card base.

Hello! Today I am featuring two CAS cards created with Spellbinders supplies showcasing the Jane Davenport Wonderland StoryTime Paint Pens, a set of 10 acrylic paint pens – five colors with two different nibs (broad and fine).

It’s easy to add paint to a papercrafting project with the pens. On my projects, I created stencils using Spellbinders dies. Using the broad nibs, I “painted” on to black cardstock. Because the paint is fast-drying, I could move to the next line immediately.

On my first project, I cut a stencil with one of the dies in the Art Studio Botanicals set through which I applied paint to draw rainbows.

Using the stencil, I drew rainbows on to black cardstock, staggering the rainbows between lines.

I trimmed the painted panel and added it to a lime-green card base.
I foiled the Crafty Sentiments sentiment with rainbow foil on white cardstock.
I cut the sentiment with a circle die and cut a vellum circle mat, adding the assembly to the card.

On my second card, I used a different die in the Art Studio Botanicals set with which I drew lines and dots on to black cardstock for butterfly wings.

I cut the wings and antenna with dies in the Flutter Wing Shadowbox Butterflies set.
I cut a light purple cardstock square and dry-embossed it with the Bright Days folder, adding it to a square (4 1/4″) white cardstock card base.
I cut the sentiment with the August 2020 Small Die of the Month kit and glued it to the card.

Penny Black – The Joy of Plants

Hello! Today I am sharing a friendship card created with Penny Black supplies.

I stamped the sentiment from 30-710 Trust Me Builder and cut it with a 1/4″ die.
I inked cardstock in shades of green and stamped the plant images with the 30-701 Groovy Greenery stamp set; I fussy cut the images.
I heat-embossed and fussy-cut the vases.
I cut two circles, one from patterned paper, the other from white cardstock, and added the assembly to a patterned paper card base.
I assembled the vases and plants and added them to the circle. I placed the sentiment strip below.
For additional interest, I added butterflies cut with a die in the 51-132 Flights of Fancy set.

Spellbinders August 2020 Craft Happy

Hello crafty friend! Today I am sharing cards created with new products at Spellbinders this month: the August Small Die of the Month kit, the Crafty Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil set, and the Craft Happy Stamp & Die Bundle. Let’s take a look!

With the the August Small Die of the Month set, I created a CAS Hello card featuring a mandala shape.

The Small Die of the Month set includes a variety of shapes and a full alphabet.

I cut the mandala shapes from cardstock to which I had applied Distress Inks.
I glued the pieces together on to a black cardstock background.
I added a vellum strip to the center, to which I applied double-sided adhesive.
I glued the “Hello” sentiment to the vellum.
I added the black panel to a 4 1/2″ square card base.

My second card showcases a sentiment from the Crafty Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil set and stamped images from the Craft Happy Stamp & Die Bundle.

I foiled the sentiment in Black Foil on white cardstock and cut it with a circle die.
I stamped the images on to cardstock which I had colored with Distress Inks and cut them with their corresponding dies.
I added the sentiment and craft-themed images to a card base covered with rainbow patterned paper.

Sticking with a rainbow theme, my third card uses the paint tube image in the Craft Happy Stamp & Die Bundle set with a sentiment cut with the alphabet dies in the Small Die of the Month set.

I colored cardstock with a variety of Distress Ink colors.
I stamped the cardstock with the paint tube stamp in the Craft Happy Stamp & Die Bundle set and cut with the corresponding die.
I cut the Hello sentiment with the alphabet dies in the Small Die of the Month set and glued the letters to the paint tubes.
I added the paint tubes to a card base covered with patterned paper.

Spellbinders Layered Glimmer Hot Foil

Hello! Today I am sharing cards created with the Layered Glimmer Hot Foil Collection at Spellbinders. The products in the collection include Glimmer Foil Plates AND Dies.

My first card showcases the Glimmered Botanical Plate and Die set.

For the large flowers, I foiled light teal cardstock using plates in the Glimmered Botanical Plate and Die set with Moondust foil.
I cut the flowers with their corresponding dies. I cut the next layers for those flowers from teal foil cardstock.
I foiled the set’s leaves, flower center, and small flowers in Matte Gold on Whip Cream cardstock and cut those pieces with their corresponding dies.
I foiled the Everyday Sentiments II sentiment in Matte Gold on Whip Cream cardstock. I cut the sentiment with a circle die and trimmed off the top.
The card base is 4 1/4″ square. I cut a 4″ square from So Saffron cardstock with the largest dies in the Essential Squares set.

My second card combines elements from the Geometric Floral set, the Glimmered Botanical set, and a sentiment from the For You set.

I foiled the geometric frame and the sentiment together in Matte Gold on teal cardstock.
I foiled Moondust foil foliage using plates in the Geometric Floral set to the geometric frame.
I added the foiled panel to a Brush Gold card base.
I foiled the Glimmered Botanical set’s small flowers in Matte Gold on Whip Cream cardstock, cut those pieces with their corresponding dies, and added them to the card with foam adhesive.
I cut small and large flowers with a die in the Geometric Floral set from Whip Cream and Brush Gold (centers) cardstock and added them to the card.
