Think Pink: A Note to You

I’ve had this card in my head for a week or so, ever since I purchased the Hero Arts “Flower Dot Pattern” background stamp. The stamp has been around for awhile (a couple of years?), and I’ve seen it used on some beautiful projects.

Think Pink

I paired the paisley/floral motif with something geometric in the lower half. I’ve rarely, if ever, used the “Plaid” embossing folder. I dyed the silk ribbon with “Worn Lipstick” distress stain.

Furry Cat CASE

I absolutely fell in love with the Simon Says “Furry Cat and Box” stamp set when I saw it used on a card by Laura Bassen. I’d already used the set on a different “Happy Birthday” card but wanted to give Laura’s card a try, so I CASE-ed it, twice!

Laura used a solid cardstock with Copic-colored cats. As I’m in the process of using up some of my patterned paper, (I have a lot!), I paper pieced the cats from patterned paper and used a patterned paper background. Laura’s card was cleverly created, something I grew to appreciate as I made mine.

Pinspired Challenge #8

Welcome! It’s time for another Pinspired Challenge. The photo is for you to interpret anyway you want. Be inspired by the colors, the style, the theme – it’s up to you!

This challenge is sponsored by Timeless Twine who are offering the winner a $10 gift certificate to their online store.

For my card, I drew from the texture of the cake, the colors of green/tan/white, and the themes of spring and love. It’s rare for me to make a card without a lot of stamping, however, I did stamp the hearts using the woodgrain circle in the “My Happy” stamp set before die-cutting them.

For Someone Special

I picked up another Basic Grey Paper Cottage stamp set from Ellen Hutson’s this past week during their “Spring Cleaning” event- I already have several sets from the collection. I’ve got a lot of possibilities swirling around my head! For this card, I wanted to pair pink and green, a color combination that shouts spring to me.

Special

After stamping the background stamp, I realized that the green could easily over power the other elements, so cut the background down and paired it with dry-embossed cardstock.

Hope your week is off to a terrific start!
