Elizabeth Craft Designs – Die-cut Winter Birds

Hello! Today I am sharing a winter-themed friendship card featuring the retired Elizabeth Craft Designs “Birds” die set paired with a Paper Smooches sentiment from the “Winter Sampler” set.

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Die-cut Winter Birds

  • I die-cut the pieces from cardstock, patterned paper, and flock material and assembled the birds.
  • I stamped the Winter Sampler sentiment on to cardstock which I cut with a skinny rectangular die.
  • I cut the turquoise circles and added them and the sentiment strip to a patterned paper base.
  • I added the assembled birds with foam adhesive.

Elizabeth Craft Designs – Winter Birthday

Hello! I recently posted about how I’m trying to embrace winter this year rather than resist it. To that end, I am making winter-themed projects including this birthday card featuring Elizabeth Craft Designs dies.

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Winter Birthday

  • I cut the Polar Bear from soft finish cardstock and colored him lightly around the edges with the Hickory Smoke ink. I colored the eyes and mouth (I used the Paper Smooches Snowman 2 die for the mouth) with black Copic marker. I then assembled the bear.
  • I cut the Polar Bear’s hat and assembled it.
  • I cut the balloons using the Balloons and Party Accessories die sets.
  • I sponged Tumbled Glass ink on to the card base.
  • I stamped the MFT Ready Set Snow sentiment in the upper left corner.
  • I added the balloons and bear to the card base.

Elizabeth Craft Designs – Honey Bear Valentine

Hello! Today I have a CAS Valentine created entirely with dies from  Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Elizabeth Craft Designs - Honey Bear Valentine

    • I cut the Honey Bear (now retired) pieces from soft-finish cardstock. I colored the bear’s body with Vintage Photo and Tea Dye inks with sponge applicators.  I colored the nose with Walnut Stain ink and the eyes with a black Copic marker. I used a Taylored Expressions set to cut the mouth (I also colored it with a Copic marker).
    • I cut the LOVE frame with the Peek-a-Boo Love set (now retired) from red and white cardstock, piecing the white letters into the frame. The heart and cupcake were cut with the same set.
    • Once I had the bear assembled, I placed him into the frame. I added the assembly to a patterned paper base.

Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit – Our Favorite Font Sentiment Set

Hello! Today, I am sharing two cards created with the December Small Die of the Month kit from Spellbinders – “Our Favorite Font Sentiment Set.”Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit - Our Favorite Font Sentiment SetThe set includes fourteen word dies, in a versatile font, with which you can create a variety of expressions for a number of occasions such as: “Thinking of You,” “With Sympathy,” “Birthday Wishes to You,” and “Congrats to You,” as well as the more obvious “Thank You,” “Love You,” and “Happy Birthday.”

My first card is a Valentine, which includes several other Spellbinders sets, on which I used the “Love You” sentiment.

I’ve combined the Tux set (he’s still wearing a scarf but I removed his ear muffs) with the First Crush die set (balloon). I created the heart panel with the largest die in the Nestabilities Class Heart set. The card measures 4 1/2″ square.

My second card is a Thank You note on which I combined the sentiment with the Butterfly Frame-A-Long die set.

I dry-embossed the background (measuring 4 1/4″ square) with the Pretty Plaid embossing folder. I created a frame by adhering the butterfly/flower strips together at the corners; I then added the flower overlays, cut from yellow cardstock. I glued pearls to the centers of the flowers for embellishment.

CAS Christmas Tree – Impression Obsession Christmas Tree Cutout

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS Christmas card created with supplies that I’ve owned for some time. In fact, I first used (it’s possible it was the only time I used) the Impression Obsession Christmas Tree Cutout die in this post for Ellen Hutson in 2014. I like revisting my supplies and finding new designs on which to use them.

  • I white heat-embossed one of my favorite sentiments (from the now-retired Hero Arts Operation Write Home Winter Wishes set) on Taylored Expressions Blue Raspberry cardstock. I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die.
  • I cut the Impression ObsessionChristmas Tree Cutout tree using the outline die from Poppy Parade cardstock and again with both the outline die and detail die from white cardstock. I glued the two together.
  • I stamped the Hero Arts Candy Stripes background with Lady Bug ink.

I like the whimsy of the Christmas tree, reinforced with the colors and the striped card background. Thanks for stopping by!
