Enjoy Today

Today I’m sharing a all occasion card created with Memory Box and Poppystamps die cuts.

EnjoyTodayThe new Puffy Cloud border only cuts on the cloud shape edge, allowing a range of lengths for the cloud panel.  I cut each of the hot air balloons twice (adhering them with 2-in-1 glue) and attached them to the cloud panels with dimensional adhesive for extra depth.

Hope you’re having a terrific day!

Poppystamps Twinery Blog Hop

Welcome! If you’ve been hopping along on the Poppystamps & The Twinery Blog Hop, you should have arrived at my blog from the blog of Stacey Schafer.

Here’s my card combining a Poppystamps die and twine from The Twinery.

TwineryProjectYoureAStar

I paired the Poppystamps Superstar Border with twine in Maraschino Stripe and Midnight Blue from The Twinery. I cut the Superstar Border in white, red, and blue cardstock, replacing the stars in the white border with red and blue ones. The border section sits on top of a cardstock strip around which I wrapped the red and blue twine. The sentiment was created on my computer. It is printed onto the card base to which I attached the wrapped twine panel and die cut border.

Next on the blog hop list is the blog of Melyssa Connolly.

There are prizes! The Twinery is offering a Metallic Sampler Pack ($32 retail value ). Poppystamps is giving away the Frozen Flakes and the Elsa Butterfly Branch dies ($26.50 retail value). For details on how to enter to win, visit

Poppystamps Holiday Release: Thankful for You

The Poppystamps Blog Blitz is underway! Today, I’m sharing a Thanksgiving-themed card featuring one of the new dies.

Poppystamps Holiday Release: Thankful for You

To create the card, I cut the Leaf Silhouette out of six different colors of cardstock as well as out of the card base panel. Before cutting out the silhouette from the base panel, I ran it through my computer to print the sentiment.

I removed the silhouette and its pieces from the card panel, and backed the panel with a strip of blank label paper (purchased at an office supply store). I then inserted the dark brown outline and began filling it up with the various leaf colors. I attached the panel to a dark brown card base.

As part of the new release, Poppystamps is giving away a die featured in each post.  For a chance to win the Leaf Silhouette, leave a comment over on the Poppystamps blog

For every post on the blog between July 1-15 we’ll be giving away a die. Comment on any of the posts that you’d like to enter by Midnight US EST July 18.  Winners will be posted on the Poppystamps blog on July 20.

Poppystamps Holiday Release: Deck the Halls

The Poppystamps Blog Blitz is underway! Today, I’m sharing a winter holiday-themed card featuring several of the new release dies combined with Poppystamps favorites.

July2014DecktheHallsTo create a cozy holiday scene, I started with the Elegant Stair Frame, which cuts and embosses. For color and decoration, I cut the Leafy Garland several times and attached it to the banister, adding some pearls as embellishment. I cut a portion of the Frozen Border and put it behind the Small Madison Window, to give the illusion of a snowstorm outside. The staircase frame is attached to the card base with dimensional adhesive to create depth. I finished off the scene with a cat and sentiment I created on my computer.

As part of the new release, Poppystamps is giving away a die featured in each post.  For a chance to win the Elegant Stair Frame die, comment over on the Poppystamps blog

The Cutting Edge Challenge #1

It’s time for the first Cutting Edge Challenge! Our inspiration this week is an amazing card created by Jackie Rockwell.

Here’s my take on the inspiration card:

TCE1

I was drawn to the “star” aspect of Jackie’s card, reflected by the design and the sentiment. I cut several colors of cardstock with the Poppystamps Superstar border die. The turquoise and orange stars are inlaid in the navy stars. The “awesome” was cut three times and glued together so that it would have some depth. While my colors aren’t the same as Jackie’s, I used colors with energy and punch.

We’d love to have you play along! Head on over to The Cutting Edge Challenge blog. You’ll find out the winners of the Avery Elle gift certificates, meet our first guest designer, and find inspiration from her and other members of the team!
