Spellbinders October Small Die of the Month Kit

Hello! Wow, it is already October. It is hard to believe how fast this year is going by! Today, I am delighted to be sharing three fall- and Thanksgiving-themed CAS projects created with the October Small Die Of The Month kit from Spellbinders. These cards took very little time to put together!

I grabbed a variety of warm-toned solid cardstocks (rusts, browns, tans), gold foil cardstock, and fall-themed patterned papers and started die-cutting. I backed the die-cut acorn top with solid cardstock in the card above and with gold foil below.

For all three cards, the die-cuts included in the small die kit do the “talking”- I didn’t stamp a thing!

  1. Love your cards. I just received my kit yesterday and I started working with it today. It is the first time I have joined a kit club so I am very excited to build up my die collection. How did you cut the backing for the top of the acorn without cutting all the accent pieces too? Did you use the die or hand cut it?

    1. Hi Carol, Thank you! I used the acorn top die as a guide and I traced its outline on the paper with which I backed the detailed die-cut. I fussy-cut that piece so that it would fit behind the acorn top.

    2. Hi again, now that I think about this some more, an easier way (and possibly the way I did it) is to use the negative piece from the acorn top as the guide with which to trace the outline.
