Avery Elle What’s Canoe With You?

Today, I’m sharing a CAS “just because” card featuring the Avery Elle Happy Camper stamp set framed with the Finished Frames Elle-ments.

I chose colors that I felt were outdoorsy – I tried a number of combinations before settling on this combination. I really like the texture that the Finished Frames die provides, like a whip-stitch around the edge.

While one-layer cards can intimidate me, in this case, the stamping area was relatively small so it wasn’t too overwhelming!

retrosketches #161

Today, I’m sharing a card created for the Retrosketches Challenge featuring the Avery Elle Red & Goldie stamp set, with coordinating Elle-ments dies.

This past weekend, I was able to spend time practicing my Copic coloring (using the lessons from the Online Card Classes Copic Markers class). I’ve had the Avery Elle Red & Goldie set in my collection for a while, and the images are just adorable. I created the speech bubble on my Silhouette intending to stamp a sentiment on it, but then decided to go bold with the die cut Thank You.

CAS(E) this Sketch #119

Today, I’m playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch #119 Challenge. This is a really versatile sketch I can see using again and again.

I heat-embossed an Avery Elle sentiment pairing it with balloons, cut with an Avery Elle Elle-ments die set (there are a lot of balloon sizes in the set!), and a wood veneer bike (I glued two bikes together for extra depth). To balance the reverse-type sentiment, I trimmed the edge with black-and-white striped Shape ‘n Tape. The balloon strings were cut on my Silhouette.

Avery Elle Make a Wish

Today, I’m sharing a watercolor card featuring the Avery Elle Storybook stamp set with coordinating dies. Have you seen this month’s AEI♥U Challenge? There’s still time to play along!

AEAprilChallenge

I stamped the balloons and mouse, colored them with a combination of watercolor pencils and Distress inks, and then used the coordinating dies to cut them. I stamped the balloon strings directly onto a square panel that I washed with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Combining pencils and Distress Inks is one of my favorite watercolor methods.

AEI♥U Challenge #23 – Watercolor!

Here’s my take on the AEI♥U Watercolor Challenge:

AEApril2015-Challenge

I did some faux watercoloring by inking my stamps with Distress Inks and then spritzing/misting with water before stamping onto watercolor paper. The stems from Petals and Stems were stamped directly onto the panel. The flowers, from the Fabulous Florals stamp set, were stamped onto watercolor paper, stamped again with a smaller flower, and then cut with their matching Elle-ments set. The die-cut sentiment was cut with the Thank You Elle-ments die from cardstock, which I colored directly with a Distress Ink pad.

There’s no limit to how you can create a watercolor project for the challenge – use colored pencils, Distress Inks, traditional watercolors, …
