Sunny Studio Stamps | Playful Cats in Cupcakes

Hello! Step into a world of whimsy with a birthday card featuring the Sunny Studio Stamps Birthday Cat stamp set. This card captures the playful essence of cats nestled within scrumptious cupcakes, brought to life with watercolors.

To begin, stamp Birthday Cat images with Versafine on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper; heat set. Color images with watercoloring mediums of choice. (Check out my “Resources for Watercoloring Stamped Images” HERE.) Once dry, cut with coordinating dies.
Create A2 card base and cover with gingham patterned paper.
Next, apply white pigment ink on to light teal cardstock with a stencil in the Cloud Background set. Once dry, cut with 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 stitched rectangle die.
Stamp Birthday Cat sentiment on to gray cardstock. Cut with the same stitched rectangle die, leaving room below the sentiment for die-cut letters. Trim top to create a horizon line and add to the cloud background panel. Add assembly to card base.
Cut “MEOW” from white glitter foam (non-glitter side up) with the Art Impressions Journal Letter die set. Add below “the party starts.”
With the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons set, cut balloons and strings. Assemble and add to card.
Add watercolored cats to card, propping up the cat in center with foam adhesive.

Pawsitively Adorable | Sunny Studio Stamps Birthday Cats

Hello! Today I am sharing an adorable birthday card featuring two feline friends ready for a purr-fect party. These charming cats, stamped with the Sunny Studio Stamps Birthday Cat set, have been brought to life with watercoloring. This card would be perfect for any cat lover or someone who appreciates adorable and whimsical designs.

I paired the Birthday Cat set with other supplies from my stash to help bring the scene to life. This stamp set, and the coordinating die set, are my first ever Sunny Studio Stamps supplies. I just could not resist the cute illustrations.

- Stamp Birthday Cat images on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper with VersaFine ink; heat set.
- Color images with watercoloring mediums of choice. Once dry, cut with coordinating dies. Check out this post on watercoloring stamped images.
- To create the background within the circle, add Tumbled Glass and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks to white cardstock, using a piece of vellum as a mask while applying the inks. Once dry, stencil clouds with white pigment ink using one of the Lawn Fawn Cloud Background stencils.
- Cut balloons with dies in the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons set from cardstock to which Distress Oxide inks have been applied. Cut balloon strings from white cardstock, glue to balloons, and trim as necessary.
- Stamp sentiment from the Let’s Celebrate set in black on red cardstock. Cut a 2 1/2 inch circle from the stamped panel with die in the Everlasting Circles set. Cut panel again with a rectangular stitched die, measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I used one from a now-retired My Favorite Things Blueprints die set.
- Adhere frame to the stenciled scene background and the assembly to a card base of Bazzill Canvas cardstock.
- Add cats and balloons to scene with foam and dot adhesive.

- Add card kit patterned paper to A2-size card base.
- With the Balloons & Birthday Wishes set, cut banner pieces from Pink Sand and Snowdrift cardstock. Add Spun Sugar ink to pink cardstock edges; assemble banner.
- Cut sentiment from Snowdrift cardstock and add to banner. Add assembly to patterned paper background.
- Cut flower pieces and leaves from Pink Sand, Snowdrift, and light green cardstock. Assemble and add to card with glue and foam adhesive.
- Cut bird from Pink Sand and Snowdrift cardstock.
- Embellish with Silver Mix Gems.

Lawn Fawn Delight: Cat-themed Birthday Card

Meow! Today I’m excited to share with you a birthday card, purrfect for cat lovers, featuring adorable cats and colorful balloons. I used Lawn Fawn products to create this cute design, which includes watercolored cats lounging on a cozy couch in front of a die-cut window.

- - Stamp Meow You Doin’ sentiment on patterned paper; add to A2-size card base.
  - Stamp Meow You Doin’ (cats), Window Scene Winter (couch), and Wild For You (hat) images with VersaFine on Arches Cold Press watercolor paper. Color with markers. When dry, cut with coordinating die sets.
  - Cut Party Balloons from Arches Cold Press watercolor paper and watercolor with markers. When dry, attach strings.
  - Cut Window Frame from white cardstock. Cut light-blue cardstock sized to go behind the window. Add balloons to background; attach window with foam adhesive.
  - Place window on card base. Add couch with cats attached.

Including a window in a card design creates a sense of perspective that draws the viewer into the scene. This can be especially effective if you’re creating cards with setting such as a cozy home. I often use windows on my cards such as this one featuring the Lawn Fawn Wonderful Window die set.

Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club | Balloons and Birthday Wishes

Creating a handmade card is a wonderful way to show someone you care. If you’re looking for inspiration, the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month Club set “Balloons and Birthday Wishes” features a banner that can be customized with flowers and balloons, as well as a variety of sayings from which to choose. I used the same color combination on both cards with one featuring the balloons and the other flowers.

A dark purple banner with gold letters creates an elegant and stylish look. The dark purple makes the text stand out.

- Dry-emboss A2-size Sea Glass cardstock panel with Diamond Plaid folder; add to card base.
- Cut sentiment from Brushed Gold cardstock.
- Cut banner pieces from Royal Amethyst and Purple Mist cardstock.
- Cut balloon pieces from Snowdrift cardstock, Gold Glitter Foam, and shiny gold cardstock.
- While assembling banner, place two balloon strings inside banner. Add sentiment to banner. Add assembly to background. Add balloons.

A light purple banner with white letters gives a softer touch.

- Dry-emboss A2-size Sea Glass cardstock panel with Diamond Plaid folder; add to card base.
- Cut banner pieces from Royal Amethyst and Purple Mist cardstock; assemble.
- Cut sentiment from Snowdrift cardstock and add to banner. Add assembly to background.
- Cut flower pieces and leaves from Royal Amethyst and Snowdrift cardstock. Assemble and add to card with glue and foam adhesive.
- Embellish with Pink Color Essentials Gems.
