Cute Stuff

For the past several days, I’ve been in the process of decluttering my scrapbooking supplies as part of Simple Scrapper’s “Stash Bash”. I bought the 12″ x 12″ Basic Grey “PB&J” collection, including papers, stickers and dimensional embellishments, to scrap a page last summer. I knew I still wanted to use the supplies, so I decided to use one of the patterned papers on a card. It’s been awhile since I’ve used scrap paper (rather than 6″ x 6″ papers) on a card, although that’s what I did all the time when I first started cardmaking because I didn’t know about 6″ x 6″ pads!

Initially I thought I’d use the backside of this print for the left-hand side, but I just wasn’t getting it to work. I “neutralized” the card with some dry embossed kraft cardstock.

Wish You Were Here

I had a lot of fun pairing the Mama Elephant “Geotagged” stamp set with some Pebbles “Seen & Noted” patterned paper in this card.

I stamped the polka dots in several different colors before finally getting a color that I though worked best with the “on trend” colors in the patterned paper. While my natural inclination is to save the Pebbles paper, I’m trying to embrace the concept of “spending out” that Gretchen Rubin, author of “Happiness Project” and “Happier at Home”, describes in her post here.

Happy Birthday Gnome

I’ve been wanting to play with this Paper Smooches “Forest Whimsy” stamp set for some time and had the opportunity to do so for a birthday card! We have a strong affection for all things “gnome” in our home. 🙂

Kim Hughes does a fabulous job with the way she draws her designs making it so easy to fussy cut patterned papers, as I did on this card with the MME “Gnome Sweet Gnome” papers. This card is only 5″ tall. When I first crafted it, I had extra white space above and below that just didn’t look right, so I cut the card down a bit!

Pinspired Challenge #7

Welcome! It’s time for another Pinspired Challenge. The photo is for you to interpret anyway you want. Be inspired by the colors, the style, the theme – it’s up to you!

This challenge is sponsored by Timeless Twine who are offering the winner a $10 gift certificate to their online store.

I was inspired by the image’s theme and design. I used two different cloud dies to achieve the cloud cover. I die cut vellum adhered to Be Creative tape so that I could easily adhere the clouds. Rather than use rain drops on my card, I die cut three colorful umbrellas.
