Neat + Tangled January Release Day #4 – “Party Dots”

It’s Day Four of the January Release at Neat & Tangled Stamps. Today, I’m showing three cards I created with “Party Dots” – an incredibly versatile set that includes a must-have “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment stamp. This stamp set lends itself to card making for a multitude of occasions – weddings, wedding announcements, birthday parties, graduations, …

For my first card, I heat embossed the background with one of the dots stamps using Versamark and American Crafts Zing! powder. I stamped the die-cut heart with silver pigment ink. The “Let’s Celebrate” banner and sentiment are heat embossed with Hero Arts silver powder. I guess when I think “celebrate” I turn to metallic colors!

My second card is similar – the die cut hearts are stamped with pigment ink and the “Let’s Celebrate” banner and sentiment are heat embossed with Hero Arts silver powder. I added a few rhinestones for some bling!

For my final card, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a die cut banner and paired it with an EK Success wedding cake.  The background is dry embossed.

Thanks a Bunch!

This week’s Retrosketches sketch is fantastic, and I couldn’t wait to play along!

I combined a monkey and banana from a Hero Arts digital set with some of the newly-released Hero Arts stamps. The tweed background stamp is one I will be reaching for all year!

I’m also linking this card up with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge focused on “Thanks.”

Supplies: October Afternoon Midway Collection (orange-striped paper); Hero Arts Monkeying Around digital stamp set

Pinspired Challenge #1

It’s time for the first Pinspired Challenge! The inspirational photo is for you to interpret anyway you want! You can take from the colors, the style or the technique! You can also make any kind of craft you want as well, whether it’s a card, layout or altered item!

This first challenge is sponsored by The Alley Way Stamps who are generously offering the winner one stamp set of their choice.

Here’s my take on the challenge image:

Challenge1-JM

I wanted to capture the birthday theme, as well as the colors, from the pinspiration. I added a dry embossed background to replicate the polka dots on the cake.

Be sure to head over to the Pinspired Challenges blog to see the creations from the rest of the “Pin Heads” (aka Design Team) and find out the details for playing along. Three runner ups will be chosen and win a “Pin Pal” badge for their blog. A winner will also be chosen by the “Pin Heads” and will win a “Pin Perfect” badge for their blog, as well as the prize from The Alley Way Stamps. We can’t wait to see your creations!

Neat + Tangled January Release Day #1 – “My Heart Sings”

It’s Day One of the January Release at Neat & Tangled Stamps. Danielle has knocked it out of the park with her “My Heart Sings” set! This stamp set would work equally well for Valentine’s Day, weddings, engagement parties, … you get the idea, anything connected with LOVE!

For my first card, I stamped the set’s pair of birds onto Teresa Collins’ musical notes paper and joined them with a stamped, die-cut heart.

For my second card, I colored one of the birds with Copics and added a touch of Ranger Stickles.

CFC84: Thank You

This week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge is to create a Clean And Simple Thank You card. I haven’t made a “CAS” card in awhile and every time I do, I’m that much more impressed by the designers who craft in the CAS style on a regular basis. They’re deceptively difficult!

CASThanks

I covered up the “you” of the “Thank you” sentiment with some Echo Park stickers for a punny sentiment.

Starting with this challenge, Ellen Hutson is going to be a monthly sponsor over at CAS-ual Fridays. How fabulous is that!

Supplies: Echo Park stickers; Stampin’ Up cardstock (grey); Divine Twine; Mossy Made button
