CAS 2 Day Nine Card

I can’t believe that the Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2 class is drawing to a close. I’ve enjoyed it so much!

Today’s lesson focused on adding texture to a card, including glitter. I created a card based on one shared by Jennifer McGuire featuring a pleated panel. Since I don’t have a lot of glitter, I die cut the heart from glitter paper.

Day Nine Card

I “ironed” these pleats with a bone folder more than I’ve ever ironed anything with pleats, and they’re still sticking up a bit! I need to flatten the card under a pile of books overnight.

Supplies: Hero Arts “My Happy” stamp; Savvy arrow die; Wplus9 Design Studio heart die; Spellbinders banner die; Hero Arts shadow ink; Neenah white cardstock; Stampin’ Up gray cardstock; Michaels glitter paper; Crate patterned paper

Another CAS 2 Card

In this card for Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2, I’m combining techniques from several class lessons – the illusion of dimension from Julie Ebersole’s Day Seven card and masking from Debby Hughes’ Day Six card. I also colored my cats like Debby’s.

Another CAS 2 Card

After masking and coloring the cats, I didn’t want to risk a mis-stamped sentiment, so I added a die-cut one!

Supplies: Hero Arts Newspaper Skyline; Simon Says Stamp Furry Kisses; Simon Says Stamp banner die; Simon Says Stamp Banner Sayings; Versamark; Hero Arts white embossing powder; Neenah white cardstock; Stampin’ Up gray and blue cardstock; Stormy Sky Distress Ink; Copics; Memento Pear Tart ink; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Hero Arts Soft Pool ink

CAS 2 Day Five Card

Today’s Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2 course lesson showed how to use the Hero Arts Tall Flowers stamp several different ways.  I don’t own that stamp (yet!) so had to improvise with the Blooming Meadow stamp. I followed the approach shown by the very talented Donna Mikasa.

Day Five

After heat embossing the flowers, I used Wild Honey and Crushed Olive distress inks for the background. There are a few water splatters on the distress ink background (that’s intentional!). Donna included some small punched butterflies on her card. I don’t own the punch she used, and the butterfly punch I own is too large for the card, so I just left those off!

CAS 2 Day Four Card

Today’s Online Card Classes Clean & Simple Card Making 2 course lesson is about white space (blank space). Julie Ebersole shared two beautiful cards using the Hero Arts dogwood stamp. I don’t own that stamp, but own the Sizzix Hero Arts Antique Flowers stamp, which appears to be the same design, but slightly smaller. Since I only own the one, I’m not able to make a comparison. At any rate, I had to trim the card down to achieve the same look!
