Taylored Expressions December 2017 Release Day

Hello! Welcome to the Taylored Expressions December 2017 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store!

Before you head off to shop, I have two more CAS Valentines to share!

Taylored Expressions December 2017 Release

To begin, I colored Sugar Cube cardstock with Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet inks and cut the colored cardstock with the Little Bits – Hearts die several times. Next, I stamped a Sugar Cube cardstock panel with the How Sweet It Is sentiment. I created a mask from masking paper, cut with a die in the Heart Stacklets set, positioning it above the stamped sentiment. I used one of the Clarity Stencil Brushes to apply the Tumbled Glass ink on the outside of the mask. I then removed the mask and added the die-cut hearts. To finish the sentiment, I added the die-cut Loved sentiment.

My second projects showcases the Mandala Background 2 stamp paired with one of the sentiments in the Simply Said – Valentine stamp set on a CAS Valentine’s Day card.

Taylored Expressions December 2017 Release

To begin, I stamped the Simply Said – Valentine sentiment in Oreo ink on Sugar Cube cardstock. I then stamped the Mandala Background 2 stamp by coloring it with ink markers in two of the corners, varying how much of the stamp I showed. I colored sections of the background stamp one at a time with ink markers in yellow, orange, red and purple.

TE December 2017 Release – Day 3 Sneak Peeks

Hello! Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions December 2017 Release Sneak Peeks. The release products will be released tomorrow – December 7 @ 7 AM PST!

My first card features the Mandala Background 1 stamp (there is another stunning Mandala Background as part of the release as well!).

I heat-embossed the Mandala Background 1 stamp on a Sugar Cube cardstock panel with gold embossing powder, rotating the cardstock so that I could have half of the image on top and on bottom. I added Lollipop, Candy Corn and Lemon Meringue ink to the image with the Clarity Stencil Brushes. The Thanks Script sentiment was cut from Gold Foil cardstock.

My second card features the Sitting Pretty – Valentine Accessories die set paired with the By the Fireside die set.

I cut and assembled the fireplace and then decorated it! I knew I wanted to use the Playful Patterns – Valentine paper for the base and that I would be using pink. I added Lollipop and Strawberry Milkshake inks to Sugar Cube cardstock with the Clarity Stencil Brushes before cutting the items with the Sitting Pretty – Valentine Accessories set. I cut a few of the accessories from Gold Foil cardstock and also used it to back the die-cut LOVE letters.

Simon Says Stamp DieCember 2017

Simon Says Stamp DieCember 2017Hello! Today, I’m delighted to be sharing two CAS cards created with the Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Secret Penguin die as part of their DieCember release!

My first card features a trio of penguins in a winter scene.

I cut the penguins from black, white and orange cardstock. I added embossing paste to the sky with the Falling Snow stencil. While that dried, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the On A String stamp set with silver embossing powder on white cardstock, which I cut with one of the Drifting Stitches Borders dies. I used the other die in the Drifting Stitches Borders set to cut a hill from medium-blue cardstock.

I couldn’t resist creating a Valentine’s Day card with the Picture Book Secret Penguin.

As I did with the winter-themed card, I cut the penguin from black, white and orange cardstock. I also created snow hills with the Drifting Stitches Borders dies. I added a sentiment cut with the On Edge Love You die and tucked it between the snow banks. Finally, I cut the hearts with the Heart Sprinkle Trail from the light-blue background, adding red cardstock behind.

Merry Monday Christmas Color Challenge – Blue, Green, Silver and White

Hello! Today, I am sharing a CAS card featuring the Memory Box Deco Trees die created for Merry Monday Challenge #267.

At first I was going to pass on the challenge because all I could think of was a card with glass ornaments in the challenge colors of green, blue, and white/silver/vellum (and was getting nowhere). I finally freed myself of that specific idea!

Merry Monday #267

I die-cut a cardstock panel with the Deco Trees die and heat-embossed a Hero Arts sentiment from the “Spread Joy” set (now retired) on the panel. I colored cardstock with three Distress Oxide inks – Peacock Feathers, Lucky Clover and Salty Ocean. I trimmed the colored cardstock to fit behind the openings of the three trees.

Watercolored Snow Day

Hello! Today I am sharing a CAS card featuring one of the images from the Newton’s Nook Designs Snow Day stamp set (now retired). I have never before stamped any images in this set (and I purchased it in 2013!).

Newton's Nook Watercolored Snow Day

I stamped and heat-embossed the dog image on Canson Montval watercolor paper and colored it with a combination of Distress Inks and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

Once the image was dry, I cut it with a die in the Stitched Square Stackables – Large set. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments set and cut it with a die in the Everyday Sentiment Banners set. I used the Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop die to create the card background. Once assembled, I realized there was a critical missing detail – snowflakes! I used the Snow Caps set to die-cut snowflakes from the watercolor paper.
