Merry Monday Summer Link-up – Die-cut Ornaments

Hello! I’m playing along with the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Summer Link-up with a CAS card using turquoise blue, green, and purple. This isn’t a color scheme I often use (perhaps one I have never used) and it took a bit to figure out what element I would make which color.

Merry Monday Christmas

I stamped the Candy Stripe Bold Prints background cardstock (Stampin’ Up) with VersaMark for a subtle pattern after trying the coordinating Stampin’ Up ink (which was too dark). To keep things clean, I heat-embossed the Christmas Messages sentiment on the die-cut ornament.

Lawn Fawn Summer Hello

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a CAS card featuring supplies from Lawn Fawn.

Lawn Fawn Summer Hello

The Happy Howloween set includes lots of fun images for a fall scene, but I wanted to use the dogs in a summer scene. I stamped and heat-embossed the Happy Howloween dogs on a variety of watercolor papers and started coloring them with Distress Inks; in part, I was experimenting with which colors and  watercolor papers I liked best. The ones shown were colored with Gathered Twigs on Arches (left) and Distress Oxide Vintage Photo on Strathmore (left).

I colored Canson watercolor paper with Distress Inks for the tree trunk, foliage and grass borders, and once dry, I cut those pieces with the Leafy Tree Backdrop – Landscape, Meadow Borders, and Grassy Border dies. For the background, I applied Distress Oxide Broken China on Canson watercolor paper using the smooshing method. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Hello Baby set with VersaFine ink. To create the frame I cut Arc Crafts White Birch with the largest die in the Stitched Square Stackables – Large set and then with a smaller square die included in a Lil’ Inker set I own. The card measures 4 1/2″ square.

Hello! Welcome to the Taylored Expressions August 2017 Release! All of the products that we have been sharing this week are now available in the TE store! Before you head off to shop, I’ve got two more Halloween-themed projects to share!

I stamped and heat-embossed a sentiment from Boo to You on the background, and I added a ghost cut with the Ghost Town Border set, as well as a ghost and bat cut with the Haunted Accessories set.

On my last card, I created a Halloween scene with one of the dies in the From the Crypt – Haunted set.

I used the Label Stacklets 11 set to cut the background and added a ghost cut with the Ghost Town Border set, as well as a ghost cut with the Haunted Accessories set. I used the banner die in the Build a Tag 2 set to cut the sentiment stamped with Simply Said – Halloween. For a little bling, I added TE Sequins – Build a Scene Halloween to the patterned paper background.

Taylored Expressions Aug 2017 Release – Halloween Treat Packaging

Hello! Welcome to Day Three of the Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peeks. Products will be in the store tomorrow – Thursday, August 3 @ 7 AM PST! Today, I am sharing two Halloween packaging projects.

My first project uses the Coffin Treat Boxes. The set includes five black and five metallic boxes, ready to assemble.

The fun begins with decorating these easy-to-assemble boxes! I used the From the Crypt – Creepy set to cut the overlay (in both black and silver) and the Label Stacklets 11 set to cut the patterned paper, which I used behind the overlay and inside the boxes. I stamped a sentiment from the Mum’s the Word Stamp & Die Combo set and cut it with a die in the Tag Stacklets 3 set to create a tag. Of course, you don’t have to add a tag or tie the boxes up with twine, but I thought it would be fun to show that option.

The boxes are generously sized for Halloween treats!

My second project is a set of Halloween treat tags (I used them for cellophane bags filled with Smart Food popcorn) created with the Build a Tag 2 and new Halloween supplies.

For all of the tags, I heat embossed a Simply Said – Halloween sentiment and cut it with the banner in the Build a Tag 2 set. I dry-embossed the tag set’s scalloped pieces with the Subway Tiles embossing folder. I varied the colors of the sentiment strips and tags for variety, embellishing the tags with pieces cut with the Little Bits – Ornate Frame, Little Bits – CandlelabraLittle Bits – Cat and Sitting Pretty Halloween Accessories die sets. For a little bling I added TE Sequins – Build a Scene Halloween.
