Online Card Classes Background Check – Day One

I’m sharing a card created with one of the techniques shown in the Day One lesson of the Online Card Classes Background Check class.

Day1

I inked the cardstock panel with three Distress Inks, ran it through the Big Shot with the My Favorite Things stencil (adding some dimension) and then dabbed at the open areas of the stencil with a baby wipe to life off some of the ink. The card design is based on one used by Jennifer Rzasa in an earlier Online Card Classes course.
Supplies: Hero Arts sentiment from a retired set

Dream Big

Today, I’m sharing a “just because” summer-themed CAS card.

DreamBig

I haven’t seen a lady bug in years, but fondly remember seeing them as a child! I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts “Heyday Sentiments” set on the rectangular cardstock panel and then adhered the die cut leaves and lady bugs.

Supplies:

Die Cut Summer Nautical Scene

Today, I’m sharing a summer-themed lighthouse scene crafted with Taylored Expressions dies.

I’ve already proclaimed my love for the red, white and blue (in this case navy and a chambray blue) color scheme, especially during the summer. I added a little yellow to energize the scene. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set.

Reverse Confetti CAS(E) This Sketch #132

I liked this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge so much, I created another card with the sketch using Reverse Confetti stamps and Confetti Cuts!

CASESketchPosies

I stamped images from the Reverse Confetti Petals ‘n Posies set with pigment inks and cut them with their corresponding Confetti Cuts. I stamped the sentiment from Peacock Pretties and cut it with a die in the Stitched Flag Confetti Cuts set. I cut the cardstock frame with a square die inside a rectangular one. The frame is adhered to the blue panel with dimensional adhesive for some depth.

CAS(E) This Sketch #132 Guest Designer

I’m delighted to be a guest designer this week for the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #132.

Here’s my take on the sketch featuring a combination of Taylored Expressions die cuts:
CaseThisSketch-132-JM

To begin, I created a frame panel by die cutting with a nesting die. Next, I cut the Taylored Expressions Beach Border, onto which I had heat embossed the sentiment, and trimmed it, taping it to the back of the frame panel. I added the die cut sandcastle and flip flops to the beach border with dimensional adhesive. I adhered a yellow panel onto the heavyweight card base for the background. To finish, I adhered the white frame panel to the card base with dimensional adhesive.
